I can remember broad concepts from an article I read a decade ago

But I usually forget why I've entered a room as soon as I've done so

How on earth do Tal Bloke & JonMW know these obscure things?

You've met Jon MW, right? Smiley

I'm more impressed that he keeps the level of knowledge he has considering it would be expected he'd get routinely distracted by Science Wife.

I've net him and his hat.

Matthew, lovely to hear from you. HNY to you & yours too.

Deffo of interest, though have you seen those prices? Wowzer. Might just splash out though, I know Gill would love it too.

Now you've awakened the Diary so to speak, I might just pluck up the courage to do a bit of an update on where I am in life. I had the most wonderful 2022, & I have very exciting plans for 2023.

I need to reply to a few PM's first, (apologies to Mr Norsden, Grumpy Bloke & Fat Fucker) but will try & do an update soonest.

How are things with you Matt? Life good? Off to Vegas with The Bopkin this year? Do you still play a bit of poker?

Clarksons farm 2 Eye Wateringly funny , terrific entertainment.

Yup. It was only released yesterday, & I was up until nearly 3am binge-watching the first 4 episodes.

He's very Marmite, but I much enjoy his books of collected newspaper articles & he's sensationally good in Clarkson's Farm, aided & abetted by Kaleb & Gerald. ("Wise words" by Gerald...).

If anyone fancies a bet, it's long odds on that he'll be prosecuted by the H & S people after what I saw last night, never seen so many dangerous antics with some seriously dangerous farm machinery.

He must be stinking rich, given how he throws money around buying farm kit without batting an eyelid, £50k here, £20k there, £30k on something else.

The ongoing stories of the cows & chickens was just fabulous.

I'll finish binge-watching the whole series by tonight or tomorrow, then rinse repeat. Excellent TV.

My brother was over for family 'Newmarket' night last night, and he was raving about this.

Guess I'd better go and hunt out season 1 next time I've got some downtime.

Please do Marky,it is thoroughly entertaining, and he is considerate of his viewers. In Season 2 he advised viewers to look away if they were squeamish, and I for one was appreciative of his warning.

So how was 2022 for you Tony?

Hi Vinni,

The short answer is that, in many ways, it was one of the best years of my life as I got all sorts of self-inflicted problems sorted out, & it felt great. Beating adversity, even when it's self-inflicted, is the best feeling ever.

If you want a longer answer, just say, & I'll bore you all to bits. Don't blame me if it's a yawn-fest though.

And how about you, & the family? You still with Team Galfond?

Absolutely want the whole story, that's why I asked as you mentioned it was a good year for you a few posts back.

Team Galfond is gone for now. Sold to an American Sportsbook that wants to get in to Poker too so they seem like a good fit. Unfortunately that meant that my side of it wasn't needed but Phil being Phil looked after us above and beyond what the company had to do and everyone parted on good terms. A real shame as he had big plans, but with no American market where he is more widely known, it was always gonna be tough. Hopefully the new collaboration will bring him what he wants.

As for me, the family are great. the boys are 4 and 8, look angelic, but can really be a pair of ***** sometimes. Sorry for being honest, but I don't think enough parents are these days Smiley But I love them and they kinda love me, so I guess we are stuck with each other.

I'm actually coming over for the UK Poker Championships on 1 March, so if you or anyone else are around in Coventry, give me a shout.
