Two weird TD Decisions here at Planet Hollywood tonight.

Compo found AA, announced "Raise", & before he announced how much, the geezer behind said "I call".

Well, what would you do in Compo's position?

He massively overbets it by moving all-in, the guy has already announced "Call" so he has to call. But when Compo goes all-in, the geezer passes! Floor is summoned, & the geezer is alowed to Pass.....

That's fine. The caller should be given a warning and then if he repeats the offence chucked out or given a time penalty. But you need some basic order-of-play rules at the table and you cannot have people being allowed just to make all kinds of actions out of turn. I know it sounds perverted that he's let off the hook when things don't go his way, but the order-of-play rule (i just coined that) must take precedence. Imagine the game otherwise, angle-shooters and colluders all over the place just shouting out once the flop hits...
The guy starts his action "raise..." and no other actions are counted until he completes his action.
Someone behind me in a crucial late stage heads-up confrontation live recently went all in on the flop before I could even look at the flop, he should have been chucked out though Smiley Smiley

Compo should have asked for the ruling BEFORE he announced the size of his bet.

Morning all. (11am here).

We all convened at 10am downstairs for a sorta working breakfast, the PW Producer Steve Meehan (Womster), Cameraman Billy Foley, Camera-Sound Techie Bloke Tim, Rhow, (looking rather hunky), Sky Big Suit Miami Vic (bought himself some Cowboy Boots!), Compo  & me. Loads to do today.

We meet again at the Rio at 12.30 to film some stuff in the Cardroom, but Harrahs are well strict. We have accreditation, but we are only allowed in the Cardroom for 5 minutes! I think we gonna get Rhow to do the interviews in there, she tends to get better received by the fellas than me or Compo, dunno why.

We are, in effect, 2 crews here, Poker Week, & Sky Poker, the latter for whom we will be doing "Postcards fom the Strip", & we planned to do a piece with Carlo today - until we found he's gone home yesterday after a first day exit!

Michelle Orpe texted me, she's here swanning around, & we are meeting up for a bite later. Food, sadly.

At 2.30 we go to the PokerStars Press Day, hoping to do Greg Raymer - a man I so admire - & Jo Hachem.

After that, at 4.30, we are off to the Red Rock Canyon (the what?) to film some stuff for Sky Poker, then we plan to interview Stu Fox at about 7pm. Problem there, as Stu has lost his 'phone (again) so we are struggling to find him. Bugger. I am gonna ring Joe Beevers & Ram, to try & get them too.

That'll be us done for today, so Compo & me will be looking for a nice Tourney somewhere, something in the $250 to $500 range, better structured than yesterday's quickie.

After I won my Tourney yesterday Compo had to get even, so he went & 3-way chopped a comp for $400, & won $670 at Cash, having Raised it up with 3-4 & got action from A-K on  3-3-K-4-A Board! He's a bit of  dark horse, that one. He's just rung me - at 11am, he's sitting in a $1 $2 Cash Game already!

OK, I better do some research, as Compo is gonna record a topical poker piece to send back to Sky Poker this afternoon, & my job is researcher. I'm gonna throw him a curve-ball with the info I give him, hehe....... So I gotta find out who's done well in their Day One's now, so Compo has some info to work with. Some of it accurate...... We are gonna Satellite-link the stuff back using the Sky News feed, handy that!

Forgot to do "Name That Tune" in yesterday's Diary, so here is todays lyric line.

Uh-huh make me tonight

Weather today - 108f, 42c.........

Great read tony, You Red-Dog peter costa et al have a remarkable ability to momentarily transform your readers into the same place that you are describing.

From what i gather of vegas, it can either be heaven or hell, and one must use discipline and good restraint to survive...oh and good nipping aversion

A man who understands Vegas, which is more hell than Heaven. More folks come here starry-eyed & go home skint than enough. And the nipping is horrendous. I hate nippers, really. Somehow, they get away with it, "faces" too. Unbelevable.
