Yesterday was a brilliant day, Tikay. Everything about day 1a was perfect. Great card room and everything really well organised. Congrats to all involved, hope the next two days run as smoothly.

My first APAT event and a most pleasant atmosphere it was too, quite similar to a blonde bash in fact.
Tikay, Tighty and Des worked their socks off to make sure that everything ran smoothly which it most certainly did.

Yes it was a fantastic day.
Things got on top of me somewhat - I hope I didnt spoil things too much
Yes TK I did crack Aces with 79 - poor lad , I felt sorry for him. The only other hand he played was KK and I busted them with 55.

Elsewhere, rumour reached Luton that the
Matt
Dale
sponsored Claw75 had Finalled in the Womens Jobbie in Newcastle - go Claire! Get it won, Claire.
unfortunately not to be
I finished 9th in the end - it was such a crapshoot from the minute the final table started that it was going to be the players with luck on their side that performed well, and my luck just ran out when I pushed with my 5xbb (above average) stack with
and got looked up by
. Very happy with my play though, and came back from losing 3/4 of my chips during the first few levels, so can't complain. Above all, it was a good day and I had fun (just sad I had to miss APAT - sounded like you guys were having a great time in Luton when we played 'pass the mobile' last night
). Still, three more events in the tour to go and with one bubble and one final table from the first three tournaments, I'm gaining confidence and will do my best to take down the next one!

Well we got through Day 1B with no major accidents or problems, phew, what a relief!
So, if we can negotiate today safely, we are home & hosed.
We stopped the clock at the same time as we did on Day 1A, to the exact
second
, & 25 survived Day1B, so 45 will return today.
Plenty of blondes left in, but I don't mind who wins, I just want them all to enjoy the experience, & I want us to show that if you care enough about the players, it's possible for Amateur players, which is most of the poker population, to be looked after properly.
The differnce in atmo between a Major Main Event & a £75 APAT Championship is chalk & cheese in some ways, but I know for sure that for many of the APAT-ers, who can't manage £1,000 Buy-Ins, & don't want to, this is as good as it gets.
Johnny Raab, reprresenting our Sponsors, is coming up today, & we start play at 2.30pm sharp, after a re-draw at 1.30.
The Staff & Management at G-Luton have been awesome, fair play to them.
I was just so happy yesterday to see everyone having such a hoot. Long may APAT last.
Tighty & Des never stopped, another 12 hour stint without a break, & I tip my hat to them both.
I met a lot of folks yesterday for the first ime, many of them blondes, & my apologies if I forget your name.
I gotta take a change of clothes today, as I can't wear APAT apparel while doing the on-camera stuff for Poker Week, which Compo & I will be doing after the Event finishes, so Ladies, no peeking when I change in the Car Park.
After we are done, I go home, as I'm up early Tuesday to go down to Sky for a training session on the new Gaming Act chnges, & how it affects us at Sky Poker. I have a day off on Wednesday, a business meetinng in Leeds on Thursday, do the Sky Show on Friday, & fly to Barca for a 2 day Poker Week jobbie on Saturday. Another week of my life gone, but it's hardly ebbing away slowly, more of a sprint to the finishing line. I'm blessed.

For all the pleasure & satisfaction one gets from helping to run an event like APAT, if you love playing the game, it's double-edged sword, as I was aching to play, & had to watch for two whole days, never to touch a card. Meanewhile, the players in the Event were having a ball, & there were 8 or 10 wonderful "fun" SNG's" & Cash Games going off, with lots of laughter & ooh's & aahs.
So I could not resist the temptation, after we'd finished "work" at about 1am, to sit at a cash game.
I played like a complete tit, & lost £400, & I was pretty cross with myself. Damn, that was not terribly bright of me.
A weird thing happened (which did not contribute to the loss) involving Compo & me, he was sat to my immediate right, & was BB in this hand, I'd limped UTG, because, well, I'm gonna take him on whatever he does, you know how it is.
It's a family pot, & he is yet to act, but the Dealer thought'd checked (he had not), & dealt the flop bfore we could stop him. An innocent & simple dealer error, no big deal. It's beyond doubt that Compo was gonna Raise, & I had already very visibly picked up two £25 chips, a sort of "slow down you bugger, 'cos I'm gonna look you up" statement.
Whoa! we all say, & now we have a problem. The flop was.....
He was holding
.
I was holding
Imagine the carnage that was about to go off there! One of us is gonna need a pull-up after that hand, probably him, but maybe me, who knows, but it's all going in, for sure.
Anyway, a Ruling is sought, but neither Compo nor I said a word, we can't, we both have a huge vested interest in this Ruling, we both think we are gonna get seriously paid. But it would be unethical for he or I to argue one way or another, so we just kept schtum.
The Ruling? His hand was deemed to be dead!
That whooshed us all, but there was no argument, we all agreed to chop up the pot there & then, & move on. It's wonderful to pay with real grown-ups who think beyond mere money.

Why on earth was his hand ruled as dead?!?
He was the BB right? And all that has happened is that he has missed his option to raise preflop.
I fail to see why his hand is dead.

The SNg's & Cash games started after Dinner, & I've never heard so much laughter, they had a ball.
- we even got told off for having too much fun.
What started off as a simple £20 SNG turned into a great bit of fun. The SNG soon became a bit of a side issue, with the prop bets taking more of the focus. Started out simple enough with a £5 last-longer bet. But the three Scandies at the table and some Brits who gambled like the Scandies were soon adding side bets to every hand. First one to win with two cards both lower than a nine in their hand, first one to win with a bluff, and the one that produced the most action - the colour of the flop. £10 for two of your colour, and £20 if all three are the same. The dealers we had were great - especially the very sweet Kelly, who seemed to be having as much fun as we were.
Pilf went on to win the SNG, and somehow I finished 3rd after getting it all in with 44 v 88 - knowing of course that the first card down would be a four...
This was just the start though, and we moved from the SNG into a game of dealer's choice. 6-card omaha became a quick favourite, and the pots were pretty big on most hands. Lots of action, and much merriment. Later on we had another game of dealer's choice with Mickyp managing to win a monster pot in 4-card omaha without actually realising he had flopped the full house and thinking his set was behind to a straight. The fella is blessed I tell you!
I was planning to drive home in the evening after the SNG, but I'm glad I stayed (thanks for the floor Pilf
) and had a bloody good night of poker until we got turfed out of the casino at 4am.

Understudy post.
Played a tournament at someplace last night, outdrew several people and eventually chopped it 3 ways at 530 am. Drove home in my Beemer, rescued a mouse from the cat, answered 600 PM's, had 11 minutes sleep, caught the train to London St Pancras. saw a mobile crane, got a stiffy, made my way to Feltham and nodded off at my desk.
Ah well, another 24 hours closer to death, I really am blessed.
Happy days.

Lets all fill in the blanks
He was at Luton last night, and drove down with Chilli
Also in attendance was Chopper Flush, wearing grey patent leather moccasins and supporting a blonde highlights jobby
tikay was still in at the break
Chilli gathered up a load of poker magazines at the break
"why?" I asked
"well" she said "tikay is driving back and when the train stories start I need something to distract me"
tikay's car is dirty again. He parked near me. Hanging in the back is half the contents of Man at Burton. Together with a shocking yellow tie
tikay sent me an email at 05.52am. From that I deduce he finalled.
the email was about blonde business and was critically harsh. From that I deduce he did not win the tournament
I believe from
Link Removed
that tikay at least made the final two tables
more when I have it
