even though Cumbrian had not officially mucked (cards had not touched any other) the pot was awarded to Simon?
this was a TD ruling?
No, no Ruling was requested, they are both grown-ups, & Cumbrian knew what he'd done wrong. He had an initial, instinctive "grab" to get his cards back, Simon correctly said "hold up, they are mucked", the Dealer concurred, & that was that.
Please don't think I'm suggesting or implying any moody stuff here on the part of either player - I am not. I was just fascinated by that (un)spoken question mark, & the trouble it caused poor Cumbrian.
Never take nuffin for granted, eh?

M55 i believe Tikay, im such a geek. The m56 runs from Manchester to Chester i belive.
I was fascinated with road maps at an early age, to the point where my next door neighbours wanted me to go on tv as a child to do one of those horrid "look what a geek this child is" things. Fortunately parents are not the pushy type and didn't want a bar of this, in this case as alot of others I have my parents to thank.

I shall miss those internal battles when the day comes to hang up my misreads.

Its likely to be the right call, Tikay i would have to know stack size etc but you are getting over 3 to 1 straight away and most likely 4 to 1 when mini-zippy overcalls as well.
Also you have a dry side pot situation which gives you some protection as your unlikely to be bet off the best hand.
I really don't like this blind raising malarky unless the situation dictates shoving any two, which is sometimes the case. You are just handicapping yourself.
As for the a7 shove it may not be the worst play in the world given that sometimes in these situation a7 plays well against a loose goosey open raise and a flat call. Alas this isn't the case with you raising, unless you mind it blindingly (see the pun hahaha) obvious what was going on.
Stack size? I had about 32k-ish. Mini-Zipp had 70k-ish. BB had about 18k. The Call was not the prob, it was the daft Raise.
The blind-Raising malarky? I've now retired that "move". For ever.
The REAL problem is this - & I've had it ever since I began playing.
I play a low-stack as well as most, & I'm never happier than when grinding, looking for soft spots, & nipping in & out nicking the occasional orphaned Pot.
But when I get a deep-stack early, Live OR Online, I always fail to push on, & always end up scrambling again. It musta happened to me a hundred times, leader early doors, cling-on at the end.
I think it's because as the Tourney develops, the aggressive players are the ones left, & they play me off the park unless I get lucky. I just seem to freeze, & go into stack-retention mode, instead of pushing on.
I've been trying to cure this recently, by getting busier, but I need to do better than blind-shoving & shots in the dark.
One problem I have - don't laugh, please - is that I enjoy the table banter & Company so much, I almost seem to prefer to cling on, & last longer, though inevitably doomed, than to risk an early departure, & miss all that table fun. Daft, I know, but I don't play for profit really, I play because I love the challenge, &, mostly, the poker peeps, & as long as I churn my Bankroll enough (& I do) to keep plodding round the gaffs, bottom-fishing in mid-price comps, I'm perfectly content.

Can't argue. I could not decide between Shoving or Passing, so I took the mddle option. I love my little fence.
What would you have done?

Mike Smith died this week.
Mike was really the power behind the Dave Clark Five, who were huge in the mid-sixties, nearly as big as The Beatles at the time. Mike was the lead singer & Keyboard-ist. They were only the second British beat Group to have a US Top Ten single, after The Beatles.
They were very boom-boom-basic stuff, but had a bunch of big hits - "(and I'm feeling) BOOM-BOOM Glad All Over", "Bits & Pieces (I'm in pieces)", "Catch us if you can", & "Can't you see that she's mii-iiii-iii-ne". I saw them at what was then the Hammersmith Palais, my Sister, Celia, (I must write about her soon, what a wonderful woman she is) took me.
He retired to Spain, but had an accident a few years back which left him paralysed, & he was in Stoke Mandeville Hossie's famous spinal unit for several years, & died there this week from pneumonia. Amazing how pneumonia seems to be the thing which kills so many elderly.

Retarded indeed. I was creating Table Image......
Seriously, I know it was daft, but as I said, I seem to "freeze" in the late stages of Comps, & I'd been stuck cardless on SZ's Table for a while, & fallen a bit behind the count. Three uncontested Raises would get me back to Average, & that was the Plan on my new table, before they sussed me.
I think a Plan B is called for.
Suggestions?
