By the bye, while I was looking for that pic of Bongo's car, I found this horror pic.

Speed kills kids. Kids. Slow down, ffs.

Remind me to tell you a story about Forums (Fora?) tonight. I discovered an amazing thing today.

Fk me. I tailed you from Cardiff once. You were like Nigel Mansell on crack!  police

Sigh - why is that down to speed, and not driver error or something else?

He must have been going pretty fast to make a dent that big!

You think that bike was doing 30 then? It no doubt was "driver" (or "rider") error- almost all accidents are, by definition. But if the bike had been going slower......

You were lucky to even be able to follow me, having locked yourself out of your Car in the Car-Park. I think Thewy & Chili were in my car that day, or was it Tom?

Today's Daily Telergraph has a rather naff "man bites dog" type story, involving a car which strayed onto the Taxiway of a British Airport.

For some reason, the name of the Airport tickled me.

"Norwich International Airport".

Still, a quick visit to their Website tells me that they are indeed International. Destinations include Aberdeen, Jersey, &, wait for it........Exeter.

Here, waiting to take off for far-distant Exeter, is a Fokker.

Tsk, some of these motorcyclists will just park their bike anywhere without thought for other road users.

Yes, maybe even 70mph (might even be faster if it's in another country).  But it's the idea that 'speed kills', and that is was speed that caused the accident.

Yes, if every car and bike went at 10mph I'm sure it would reduce fatalities and serious injuries in crashes.  But we move at a quicker pace than that, and more people die falling down the stairs - so really we should all be living in bungalows.  'Stairs kill'.

Anyway, we've done this to death (pun intended) on another thread.

Maybe if the driver/rider wasn't driving tired or drunk it wouldn't have happened?

Possibly - but I expect they were just going too fast

Too fast is definitely a bad thing that could have caused it.

That's different to saying 'speed' kills though. Speed and inappropriate speed, very different things.

Could be any of those three, possibly Thewey and Tom as they finalled, if I recall correctly. Julian had a monster chip lead throughout and was destined for victory, until Ed Arees turned the tables on him heads-up.

Very old people who drive very slowly are the most dangerous motorists imo.

The ones who wear special gloves for driving orchestrate maximum havoc whilst remaining completely oblivious.

I travelled alone that day (I think tikay did too) I wrote it up when I got home. It's over two years ago now, how time flies when you're having fun.
