So many new faces every Friday, so many of the same old faces end up scrapping it out. Look at that top six! Who says poker is a game of luck?

Which reminds me, Pelham Boy, being bright enough to know I struggle to put names to faces, re-introduced himself to me at Luton last night, what a lovely chap.
The atmo there last night was really lovely, I must say. No Bad-Beat stories, no moaning & groaning, just nice vibes, & a collective feeling that the newly introduced £250 Monthly jobbie will be a success. Let's hope so.
Life goes in cycles - look at Hull City, on the brink of the Premiership, & the swinging fortunes of Leeds United - & I'm really hopeful that G-Luton can regain some of it's lost reputation. They are never going to please everyone - poker plyers being of the nature they are - but I think they will give it their best shot.

Yes - Tracey & Ian, Damon - short-chipped early, but recovered beautifully, & such a fun table companion - Dick Lynch - he must make almost one Final in two there, he's the local Lord Wernick - Brian Sadler, massive early (big-chipped, too), Pelham Boy, etc.
I almost expect to Final there, given reasonable luck & a few hands at crucial times, & I was gutted I danced once too often & got caught, as I really felt I'd Final. But I had 9k at 600-1,200, with the Blinds approaching, & I'm trying, these days, to make my "moves" before my stack gets too low.
Well done all those who Finalled, especilly Ian, who has been through a lean patch recently, & Tracey, who's game has improved so dramatically.
With DTD on my doorstep, - & that has to be the greatest Venue for Poker I've ever visited, by a long chalk - now opening 7 days a week, the temptation to go "DTD only" for me is massive, but I shall continue to try & play once or twice a week at Luton, (& I have an "excuse" to go to Luton at last once a week now, see below), the players there are so warm & friendly.
Sadly, the "Comp of the Week" (for me) at DTD, the Sunday night £100 Freezeout, has become a Rebuy, so structured that it will almost inevitably cost £300 per pop, probably £500, means I shall have to miss that most weeks, but at least I'll enjoy the Luton Sunday night £100-er when my Diary permits. Choice is good.
I do hope the DTD Sunday night rebuy is a huge success - it's all about footfall for them, & they gotta go the route they think is right for that. But for me, playing what amounts to a £300 or even £500 Tourney with a 24 minute clock makes no sense - I don't have the game for it, & I know it. A shame, for me, anyway, as the atmo in DTD on a Sunday is just splendid.

Two Sky Poker regulars also introduced themselves to me last night - "hooters1969", & "WayneLucky" (I think). Lovely couple. I'm gonna see if we can get them on as Guests.

This afternoon. I've already joined the Bird Forum we discussed, that led me to an Aviation Photography Site, & the Ships & Railway Forums are my next visit.
The Bird Forum, by the way - BirdForum(.net) currently - at this very moment - has, would you believe? - 1,183 Members or Guests
currently viewing it
! One Board alone (& there are scores of them) - "Bird Identification" - has no less than 152,000 Posts, & 17,000 (seventeen
thousand
) threads in it! It's simply wonderful.
I Posted, & asked permission to "lift" some oif the beautiful Bird pics they have, but I got a polite "err, no, sorry". Damn.
The poker world is miniscule by comparision.
