Tonight (it's 21.30 here) I was supposed to.....
Attend the Pokerstars Party, at The Palms.
Meet Thewy.
Meet Jim to play some Poker.
I did none of those, but went to bed instead, I feel tired & a bit out of it.
I've been here a week, & have eaten a grand total of two meals. The rest of my intake has been Latte coffee (6 or 7 mugs a day), muffins, croissants, pizzas & a burger. I'm more & more convinced that food intake & how we feel are connected.
Sorry Jim, Thewy, but I've hit my Vegas wall I think.
Today was a rest day, and so I was free of Sky "duties", but I've not left my room, 'cept to fetch coffee.
Tomorrow, we get back to work, & I'm better when I'm "driven". We have a Business Brekkie with the Sky Crew at 10am, meet our two Day 2-ers at 11am, film some Interviews with them, then Rail them, hopefully all day, & film some "Faces" Interviews. Once I get back on my bike, I'll be good as gold.
I played a lovely Comp yesterday at Caesars, but did a really daft thing whilst cruising to the money, & busted. I was a bit mad with myself. In these "tilt" cases, my therapy is to work it off, & the e-Mail & M backlogs took a right hammering, I wrote three blogs, had 4 'phone calls to England, & did some well creative stuff here & there. Now, I am purged. Tomorrow, I shall be dancing again.

1/6 x + 1/12 x + 1/7x + 5 + 1/2x + 4 = x
That is right. Or you can write it as
x/6 + x/12 + x/7 + x/2 + 9 = x
I would multiply by 2 to start with. After that by multiply by 6 then simplify it out. You can then multiply by 7 otherwise its a PITA.

I'm in Las Vegas, it's my Rest Day, & I've not gone & played any poker. Thats crazy.
Today was Day 1a of the Caesars Palace $1,000 25k jobbie, but I lost (won?) the battle with my conscience as to whether to play it or not. Day 2 of the WSOP is Wednesday, & we still have 3
Sky
Poker
qualifiers in Day Two, which is Tuesday & Wednesday. And because the guys have gone through, the Film Crew have cancelled their trip home, & are still here, so more Filiming is in prospect. So, I swerved Caesars, as I'd not be able to focus properly on my game, & anyway, I have duties.
It was always the case that as soon as the Sky boys (if?...) busted, I was "free" to do as I want in Vegas, play Poker 24/7. Great. Buit I also want them to do well, go all the way maybe. There must be a name for that kind of push-pull moral dilemma. Cake & eat it, maybe.

That would be (is) my method, but , in algebraic equations, you have to justify the answer better than that, as in fact you did above. I could never do those equations to save my life, but I could always get the correct answer.

I'm shit scared of Chopper rides!
We filmed in a Chopper, over the Strip, on Monday, & I was bricking it.
After the last Monte Carlo Millions, Marc Goodwin "treated" Jen & myself to a 'copter taxi across the bay to Nice airport & I've never recovered from that, either.
I might jump a train somewhere, though.

In a pre-Vegas planning meet at Feltham, we had a bit of a ding-dong battle about Filming arrangements for the Vegas "Big Names".
It was argued that we must book appointments with them all, weeks in advance. I argued against, I know how unreliable poker players are. My line was "take t on the hoof, I'll find the Faces, & we'll do them ad-hoc".
We were both right. And both wrong.
Half the Faces we had pre-booked never showed, but I came a cropper with my "on the hoof" logic yesterday.
We were offered, at 3 minutes notice yesterday,
Hevad
Khan
for an Interview. 'Stars sort of "tout" their Faces for Interviews, & it's kinda rude to say no. After all, we can always bin the tape.
So I'm asked "will you Interview him?".
Well, I don't know much about the guy, except that he Finalled in last year's WSOP Biggie. So I borrowed an i-phone & got googling. Turned out he was the guy who got banned by'Stars years back on suspicion of being a bot, so filmed himself 24 tabling (24!) & sent it to 'Stars. It became a very famous You-Tube piece.
It's here.....
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQl0xgIP5D4
No I know who he is, & I went & done the Interview. At this stage, I had no conceptions of what the guy was like, none at all.
H seemed well-mannered, articulate, quite opinionated, but polite with it, & overall, extraordinarily bright (sharp/intelligent). I liked him, a lot.
He majored in "Smartbox" or somesuch prior to poker, much the same as Elky did in a similar sphere of online gaming.
The Interview went well. He's huge - 6'-5", & speaks fast, but incredibly clever. The interview was not too probing, as I never knew enough about him to so do.
Later, I bumped into Thewy, & mentioned Khan. He told me a weird story about him. During the very early (300-600 Blinds) stages of the Baden EPT which Thewy won, Khan was sat to Thewy's right. In every unopened pot, when they were in the Blinds, Khan would move all-in on Thewy! Well, you don't do that too often before Thewy starts dancing, so Thewy warned Khan, "do that often enough, & I'll eventually get you". It was a bit edgy betwen them for a while, but later, Thewy said, he came to like him, & they eventually got along famously. Good.
Now, fast-forward to the same evening. I'm sat in my room reflecting on a bunch of good Interviews, & as is my custom in Hotels, I flick the TV on when I go to bed. And you know what was on? The 2007 WSOP. And on the Feature Table was.....
Hevad
Khan
! (By the bye, that
Norman
Chad
fella's commentary - brilliant - he's in a class apart that man, funny, perceptive, witty).
And Hevad was on a Table with the Table Goon (but 49 time WSOP Casher
Humberto
Brenes
, some goon), & the pair of them got into a big-dick contest, to see who could make the biggest idiot of himself. Hevad won, on a knockout. I've rarely seen a worse display of oaf-ship. Standing up, yelling & hooting, whooping & hollering. He picked up a chair & whirled it roiund, above his head, & ran around the table screaming like a 3 year old hyper-active kid.
He must have been on something, honestly, no grown-up, intelligent guy could act as big a tit as he did there.
Will the real
Hevad
Khan
please stand up, please stand up?

Multiply the fractions equation above by 84 (7*12)
14x + 12x + 7x + 420 + 42x + 336 = 84x
75x + 756 = 84x
756 = 9x
x = 84

The WSOP introduced an 'acting like a cock can get you a ban' rule this year specifically because of Hevad Khan's antics last year.

Wonder if that will last to be honest.
Though it would be funny to hear a commentator at the FT of the ME say "That's the second time that drunked lout Mr Eccles does a Khan so he's been sent to the sin bin, where he seems to rather enjoy it"

If you meet folks for the first time "at home", (in the UK), it's fine, but when you come to Vegas & meet Brits, somehow you bond so much better.
I met this couple last night at Caesars, the young lady - Rachel - shared my Table, & her Hubbie, Clinton, was close by. They came from Cambridge (England) & we got chatting.
She is the PR Lady for a Construction Company (boy, that must be tough!) & he works for SIG (Sheffield Insulation Group) who are huge in UK construction.
But they run, in their spare time, something called "Pokka", which are combined Football & Poker Tourneys. (Pokka - soccer + poker).
Lovely couple, & we swapped e-addy's & moby numbers, & after a flurry of e-Mails last night, they have been booked to appear on the Sky Show. Soon sorted, that.
thats clintonO on littlewoods he does really well on there hes won something silly like 18 packges over the last couple of years for the WSOP and CPC etc , always high on the crypto tourny leaderboard every month

Just catching up with Tikay's thread after returning from Vegas and he certainly deserved a rest day. Tikay has been brilliant for Sky Poker, interviewing so many different people, phoning in to The Open and climbing into a helicopter despite it not being top of his list of favourite things to do. He looked absolutely sick at the prospect but did the job, describing the chopper pilot as 'driver' and asking our player Jason "Do you like riding in a helipop..helichoplle...heliplopter?"
Absolute hero.
