I bet they are shitting bricks. What's the time limit on stuff like this? What if everyone they've lied about in the past few years take Moseley's lead and sue? It would not be long before the judges got sick of it and started awarding punitive damages.

Just heard the odious piece of scum that is Kelvin MacKenzie saying that it was a sad day for the British press. Sad day for lying scumbags like him.

Then I'd be laughing my socks off
I can't get over a paper that advertises porn & salivates openly about sexual activity attempting to take the moral high-ground on any sexual issue.

World motorsport boss Max Mosley has won a legal action against a Sunday newspaper over claims an orgy he took part in had Nazi overtones.

I hope this and the Murat thing will finally make the press realise that they can't just write whatever they like...but I doubt it.

What a week. So much to write, so much to do. Days should have 36 hours in them.
I'm gonna start at the wrong end, I still have stuff from last week to Post, & lots of your feedback/questions to answer. I've not forgotten.
Did you see the "Ratner" story that Tom wrote? No? Read it - now - it's a real beaut. It's a three-parter, in his Diary, & starts about 5 pages "back".

First, some terrific news.
I wrote, whilst in Vegas, of the complete tit I made of myself when I interviewed Hevad Khan - due to lack of notice/lack of research, I had not realised he was the oaf who acted up so horrendously at last year's WSOP. Instead, I eulogised him for that 26 simultaneous SNG Vid, & his general intelligence & demeanour. Belatedly, of course, I realised I'd got him in completely the wrong box, & I'd fallen for the 3 card-trick. (a trick I repeated even worse with someone else this week).
So, it appears that I'm leading, by a mile, the BAFTA Poll for dumbest TV Interview of the Year, & Dumbest question of the year.
But a young bimbo floozy got me off the hook last night.
She was interviewing, for BBC I think, the DPO (Deputy Returning Officer) at the Glasgow East By-Election. The result was very close, & so a Recount had been requested.
At that stage, the Votes cast were as follows.
SNP - 11,277
Labour - 10,927.
The next nearest candidate had about 1,600.
So, Miss Floozy says to the DRO, trying to look at least a tinsy bit intelligent, "is it true a Recount has been requested?"
"Yes, that's correct" says Mr DRO in his lovely, broad, Scots accent.
"And which Party requested the Recount"? says Miss Floozy, straight-faced.
Bless her, she's got me out of trouble.

tikay your wrong your still on the hook
at the stage of the recount the "offical results" would not of been made public
no one would of known who had what in the voting "offically"
the candidates would of been told who had won and that there was x amount of votes in it (but not how many votes they had gotten)
so it was a genuine question of intrest to confirm that the SNP had won and labour was asking for a recount

I met and was interviewed by Kelvin once for a senior position at the wireless group, He struck me as a nice chap, not one to suffer fools gladly and very direct.

Hevad must have stopped drinking the Red Bull as he was nothing like the idiot of WSOP 2007 when I walked out of the Rio behind him last month. Lost a Snatty-amount of weight and pretty quietly spoken.
I'd bet he's embarrassed by the way he actied last year but it got him a lot of air time, which is probably what he wanted.
