After hours of opening envelopes & sortng & filing, we found, & paid, these parking tickets:
Blackpool (2), from February & March, while playing their £200 deepstack jobbie.
Hounslow (2), from a meet in Chiswick in February.
Brighton (1) from January.
Leeds (1) from last August.
Nottingham (1) from April.
All accompanied by "Final Demands" & threats of Court Action, Bailiffs if not paid, da de da. Sheesh.
Nobody likes to get a ticket, but you've got to make a straight decision....pay or appeal.
If you pay within 14 days it costs you "half price"....and since you don't sound like the appealing type Tikay! ....just phone the ticket office and pay STRAIGHT AWAY!..done/finished.
FFS, once you get to court action/bailiff....you're talking £200+ a ticket.
All of which I now realise. I mean to sort them immediately, but they somehow end up in a big pile of pooey paperwork & get forgotten. From now on, I'll do the "two for the price of one" rapid payment option. A bargain indeed, BOGOF Parking Tickets.

Tikay have you been here:
http://www.nymr.co.uk/
?
My brother has a similar perverted love of steam trains that you seem to be inflicted with and insisted on taking Jake here for the day earlier this week.
I was bored witless by my brother and Jake seemed to enjoy it.
Think you would be in your element there...
"perverted"? Eh? Some might say being a QPR supporter is perverted.
Yes, I've been there, & Posted some Pics of it on this Diary a few weeks back - want to see them again? You only have to ask, I've got dozens of pics.
Visited "Goatland", (or was it "Grosmont"?) which is the Station adjacent where they film "Herrtbeat" - I think they rename it Aidensfield for TV Filming. The land is all owned by the Duchy of somewhere or other.
Also visited several other Stations on the Line - it's exquisitely fifties, & very nostsalgic. On the list to visit again.
I'm sure that sort of educational trip is ideal for young Jake, it's good to widen their minds early & show them some quality engineering.
You should take him to a Bus Garage soon, too. Oh, & York Railway Museum.
Yes, we visted all those places and Pickering as well. Plus spent about 2 hours looking at men covered in oil tinkering with dirty Steam engines in sheds. (Jake said this is where the trains go to bed..)
My brother tried to indoctrinate me when I was little too...so I spent the longest day of my life at York railways museum when I was about 7.
Jake would have to be a very naughty for about a month to get that form of punishment.

Seems atm like only 25 survived, left engine fire @ T/O reported departure 14-14 but crashed @ 14-35 so indicates and aborted T/O, gate departure was @ 13-09 so was sat running for over an hour, it's hot in Madrid today but nothing over the top so doubt that should have any effect.

From PPRuNe:
JK5022 left the gate 5mins late at 1305LT, subsequently returned to ramp
at 1342 and new ETD set at 1425LT. Delay due to 'technical defects'

It was Goatland although why it's called that I'm not sure as it has sheep wandering all over the village - I expect there are some ancient grazing rights or something there?

Ahh, thanks, sorry about the missing "h".
Danes? Vikings? In Yorkshire? Bet they were "well received".
Can you explain why the Duchy of Lancaster owns so much land in deepest Yorkshire. Does "Lancaster" relate to Lancashire, or is that just an oddity?

I think the Sheep are there to nibble away at the grass, to save on lawn-mowing costs. You know what those Tykes are like when it comes to money.

Yesterday started bad, got worse, then worsererer, then it suddenly turned, & ended up as a great day overall.
The BTS goings-on of running a poker forum, with my Mod colleagues, is just extraordinary, you would never believe in a million years some of the shite that crosses our desks. But we have a bunch of fun too, & just as well, otherwise it would not be worthwhile.
Post-Vegas, I've not been at my best, or anything like it. Tiredness, adrenelin hangover, a bit of a health problem, side effects of meditation, and getting behind with my jobs, all contributed to a sort of malaise.
But yesterday, at long last, I started to see the light, & felt better mentally, though I'm still, oddly & uncharacteristically for me, a bit whoosy physically.
I've done 8 or 9 Shows since Vegas, & I've not really been happy with my "performance" in more than 1 or 2. In most cases, I sort of got by, without really sparkling, though by "sparkling", I mean in relative terms. I'm not exactly Mr Sparkly at the best of times, but you know what I mean. Well, I do.
But it just suddenly "clicked" last night, & the end result was that the Team produced a really good Show I think. I know I performed as well as I can, anyway, & that's all I can aspire to do.
We had two terrific Guests - Sheriff Fatman, who's a TV natural. because he smiles readily, & a lot, (smiles mean a great deal in life, & come cheap), & Tracey Gibson, who's had some nice results in Brighton recently. She's a bit of a Joan Rivers lookalike (though MUCH younger, I hastily add), and a very fine & aggressive player. She finished 5th of 600, I think. I was able to predict her every play, pretty much, she was mega-aggressive, & another one who finds smiling easy.
Orpey was in fine form, & is looking forward to the Sky Poker Tour, & blonde Bash 7. We've seated her next to Flushy at bB7.
She got "cogs" & "clogs" confused, to much merriment & piss-taking, then pronounced "Flitwick" with a "w". Boy oh boy, she took some stick, but she gave it back, & it was all in good heart.
"Which is Camera One?" she asked. (There are 4 Cameras). "The one with the 2 metre square sign with a "1" on it" replied the Floor-Manager.....She's an Essex Girl through & through, & plays up to that, but she's actually brighter than the average bear, & huge fun. Huge arse though.
I drove home, 3 hours just over, in torrential rain, very tired, but happier than of late, though extremely tired, & today I feel just drained.
Today, refreshed of mind, but still with a head seemingly sruffed full of cotton-wool, I plan to address my Blog backlog, I'm weeks behind. Well, "planned" more like, because now bloody Rick Trigg has tempted me to go play the £100 Freezeout at 3pm at DTD today. I can't play any of the Deepie Fessie, so that's my excuse.....So, it looks like DTD at 3pm.....
My new 'phone has just arrived, so I need to pop across to Maria, too, for her to set it up for me.
Tonight, I will address my Blog Backlog. I will.

Last night's show was great fun to do, as usual. Tikay and Michelle work well together as a team and the piss-taking yesterday was hilarious in places.
"We have a text in from SMS Monitor" was surely the funniest line ever uttered on the show. Tikay will be reminding her of that one for years.

Oh yes, forgot that........
Only an Essex Girl could have read that out on Live TV, with a straight face.

The Madrid 'plane crash was just awful.
In most 'plane crashes, the occupants die instantly, from a high-altitude crash-landing, but this was not the case here, & it seems they survived the actual crash, but were all burned to death, strapped in their seats. Horrible. The 'plane would have been full of fuel, so that'd be some inferno.
I've been reading about it on the PPRuNe Forum,. (Professional Pilots Rumour Network), and the threads there are amazing. You'd think Airline Pilots would be brighter than the average bear, but you see all the usual Forum baiting, rudeness, backchat, knowalls, ill manners, & plain blinkered myopia & insolence.
There's a sort of class divide, between the Budget Airline staff (Ryanair, EasyJet), who are all described as cowboys, & BA staff, who are all seen as snobby, upper-class twits. It's actually quite interesting to see it's not just poker forums where folks get arsey, & cannot debate without shouting & name-calling. It's tough to have a quality debate these days, it really is, but I think we are getting there on blonde now, & long may it last.
