How to Play Aces. Not.
In the £200 Final at
DT
D
on Sunday, with Blinds 1k-2k, & 8 players left, it went.....
Limp
Limp
Limp
Limp ( Button).
Make up.
Check.
The Button had? Aces! So he elected to take a flop 6 handed, unless either of the Blinds Raised. Needless to say, his Aces got turmed over.
"Creative play".
I seem to remember Stuart Nash playing them the same way in a fessie event at your table a couple of years ago and you described his play as "beautiful", however he did get the expected squeeze play from one of the blinds allowing him to come over the top afterwards.

into
9 handed - I just had luck on my side after that and won all my races, which made a pleasant change
And well done Trace!!! A good night for the girls

It's not the limping with A-A that's the problem if you expect a raise, it's the committing of all your chips on the flop when one didn't come.

funny how people see photos and think different things. My immediate thought was how you dont see ashtrays in peoples houses anymore. Everybody used to have them, even non smokers. And how you didnt actually think twice about lighting up when you went to visit friends and relatives.
Nowadays my da cant even get to light up in his own house, cos his grandkids spend so much time there
Yes. Even in a non-smoking house in those days, it was considered polite to offer a smoker an ash-tray & invite him to smoke, & rude not to offer. Smoking in a non-smoking house, when a guest, was perfectly normal, & acceptable.
Times change, in this case, for the better. Manners mean nothing these days, but to smoke in a non-smoking house would be considered sacrilege. Quite right, too.
An oddity here is the psychology of smoking, & decent manners. I've become a heavy smoker again (oh, the shame), but when I'm in an environment where I should not smoke, it does not bother me one iota. I was at Chili's house for 6 or 7 hour earlier this wek, & having a ciggie never entered my mind for a moment. The second I left, I lit up.
