For those of us who play cards left-handed they are a god-send. More please!!
(Can't believe we actually have a "Tosser" smiley)
Left-handed tosser as well (right-handed banjo-player though). Actually, ambidextrous tosser thinking about it...

The Brighton £300.
Well, it all went tits up on Day Two, with 2 slices of luck, being one of each variety.
Returning with 22,500, with Blinds at 1k-2k (RA 200), & 20 players left (9 paid) I had an outrageous piece of good fortune when lad to my right shoved wth Kings & I found Aces. Right back in it now.
Then, with 15 left, James Browning Button-Raised on my BB for the 2nd successive orbit, & I thought I could get him off if I shoved for 28k more. He callled in a trice, & I was pleasantly surprised to see my 9-9 was a spot ahead of his 8-8. I was less pleasantly surprised to see him flop his set, & so instead of a guaranteed & tidy Cash, I was heading over the South Downs to the Hickstead Hotel.
I go a back route, via Brighton Racecourse, through rolling pastureland, & from the top of the South Downs, and as it's beautifully sunny day, the light reflecting off the flat sea of the English Channel, the disappointment of that Exit Coup was soon forgotten. Until I stopped at the traffic lights in Falmer right opposite an advertisement hoarding for.....888.com.

Playing card design is just about optimal nowadays, they are as good as they are gonna get, hard-wearing, long-lasting, easy-to-read (for most), & best of all, pretty much standard all around the world. Tens of millions of packs must have been made & used down the years.
But, as in all things, some daft bugger always comes along & wants to improve upon perfection, & this was the most odd design of card used tonight. I struggled to adapt to them for a while, but got used to them eventually. Sort of. Nobody complained though, so maybe it's just me that felt they were a bit strange.
Is that designed with ease of peeking at the corner in mind ?
If that were the case did the corner design help ?
Oh and put my name down for the DC game please
Corner-peeker friendly? Ahh yes, probably, but whether it works I don't know, as I'm a full in the face Landscape-looker, & I am not keen on corner-peekers. Chili is a Portrait-peeker, which I always think looks odd.
The corner-graphics are way too small anyway - I spent 5 hours thinking they were little
fleur-de-lys
logos, before realising they were actually card-values.

I think they introduced similar cards at last year's WSOP and there was a huge uproar about them, which eventually got them changed.
I think the problem was that players kept getting nines and sixes mixed up.
Well I was certainly at sixes & sevens with them.
I can only assume that Rendezvous use them because owners LIC say they must, & they in turn do so because their owners, Harrahs, insist on it, as Harrahs have a deal with a card-maker, & tried to introduce them - unsuccessfully- at the WSOP, as you & Laxie commented.
I have a sneaky suspicion that money figures highly on Harrah's agenda. I could be wrong though

Can't even imagine trying to play PLO with them! Fair play to anyone who can manage it.

It would appear that Seve Ballesteros is gravely ill, after collapsing on Monday.
His family are by his bedside at a Madrid hossie, & have said they will not release any details of his condition, or progress bulletins.
Seve is 51. I was lucky enough to watch Seve when he was in his prime as a golfer, & he was, perhaps, one of the most gifted golfers ever born - fully entitled to be mentioned in the same breath as Tiger Woods & Henry Cotton.
I do hope he recovers fully.

You missed another song at the end of the night by Klaus... Me and JP trebled his short stack up, he has some voice and hit his high note for us at the end, fantastic!

I did in fact play PLO Cash at Brighton last night, & thankfully, they used "proper" playing cards. Not that it helped me much.
In a Pot with, I think, Chinese Tim, Klaus Kuttler, J P Kelly, & Flushy, it was popped pre by Flushy (he pops every pot pre), & 5 of us saw a Board of, something like, 2-3-3-7-4, no flush. It's checked every street, & I pop it on the Button after the River, as nobody had shown an iota of interest.
Flushy insta-called - he had a Seven in his hand. That's all - just one Seven. Ten kicker, mind.
How on earth do these guys make these calls? Even if I was at-it - & I was - a paired 7, no kicker, ain't beating anything, except a bluff.
Luckily, Flushy got moved to the big Table, & there was a young kid on the Table, & I made him my target. We clashed some 9 or 10 times, & he only managed one win, so that got me out of a hole, & paid for my little 2 day sojourn in Brighton. Thank you JP.

Damn, I wish I had been there to hear that. He's some singer, eh?
Did you get out of it? It's rare I decline a seat, but that game looked way too big for me, with Koresh & Flushy busy getting it together, & No-Pass Harvey so damn dangerous. Did you escape unscathed?

It was bought to my attention today that after an article attacking me on a Blog, this reply arose in the "Comments" section.
"LOL agreed - Kendall = penis & rip-off merchant".
Penis? Not argue with that. But Rip-Off merchant? Err, any details? Anyone? Ever? Anywhere?
I'd ask the guy who made the comment, but, surprise surprise, his Comment was "anonymous". Fancy that. Amazing how brave these guys get when they can hide behind a PC screen.

Luckily i was never in it and had a decent profit at the end of the night, Koresh did not last the night... I didn't miss his attitude when he left. He was involved in an excellent pot though:
Everyone limps for Koresh's £5 and he raised to £30 majority call.
Flop is A K 4 with two spades, he bets £125 and gets one caller Darren??? (curly ginger hair, local) on the button. The turn comes the 10 of hearts and Koresh checks pretty quickly. River is a blank 7 no flush card and Koresh leads into Darren for £350... Darren dwells for a little bit and makes it £800 (of about a £950 stack) and now Koresh goes into the tank, eventually folding.
Darren decides to show his cards, he had a Q flush draw... Koresh then says i would've called you if you had more than 1 pair, because i knew you did not have QJ! I beg to differ and think he had a set of aces and was just well and truly outplayed. Darren's bet was very good, Flushy had told me he was a nit... He does read players excellently!
I certainly think Darren could've had QJ there though as if i'm in the same spot i would check QJ against an aggressive player, hoping for the bluff on the river and knowing they won't go anywhere if i bet the turn. If a scare card comes down on the river then i can get away from it/call for cheaper and they will lead for 'bluffs' on the river alot.
P.S which blog do i need to read, you do slow-roll in Kalooki alot so i may agree with them!
