I mentioned earlier how grateful I am that 50+ players played tonight's blonde League Event.
But I forgot to add.....
The Staking Boards (childish flaming apart, which has been minimal until the last few days) have been a splendid success, & we are extremely pleased with the way they are developing. The APAT Pro-Am was a superb example of how they can work, but there have been plenty others besides, Online & Live.
I rather enjoyed the Flushy's Bitch scenario, & young Rook cashing for nigh on $80k, great stuff, & lovely example of trust between two blondes.
We deliberately set out to make it non-commercial for blonde, & have no regrets. I gave the bones of the idea to Tighty, within hours he had worked it up, debated it with the Mods, & it was up & running. Now it's "furniture". Maybe we got the "minimum 300 Post" criteria wrong, maybe not, but not disastrously either way. We did have to do something to prevent the "
Jac
Arama
" scenario, where folks visit blonde for no other reason than to get Staked. That's just not the idea at all.
The slight disappointment we have is that so few use blonde Cardroom for staking purposes
, but, equally, we understand why. Now, lo & behold, a regular blonde has decided to do something about that, & has Staked a player to grind it out in the Cash Games on blondepoker to the extent of several thousand dollars. That's huge - HUGE - by blonde standards, & we are very grateful, & I have told the guy as much. If we had just 3 or 4 more doing that, most of my headaches would cease, & I could be confident of blondes futrure, in the style which we know it.
There's always hope, one never knows. Soon, I'll be able to buy Tighty that Ferrari.
Hi Tony,
I occasionally do random stakes for players. Is there the facility to transfer to other players on Blonde? if we could I would happily do it all on Blonde, no problem.
Hi A-3 Man (wait till I write THAT one up.....),
Good to see you on Sunday night.
Transfer Facility for Staking on blonde? Yes, many folks transfer money across Accounts on blonde - just PM Kev, & he sorts it pronto+.
We'd be hugely grateful if you consider staking anyone on the blonde Cardroom. If we had just a handful doing that, it would transform our numbers rapidly.
Thanks for considering it.
A-3 indeed, sheesh.

I noticed recently that there is now a 'player transfer' section in the blonde cashier. Does that actually work?

I shall have to defer to the Honourable Colchester on that matter young lady. He will reply soon.
I've not forgotten your PM's, bear with me please.
Your mate Seb was in Luton last night. Sat next to Compo. Inevitably, with such a Table Draw, one of them was never gonna last long, & Seb exited before the first Orbit had finished, donating to Compo. Fancy that.

Get well soon Seve, you are a hero to so many of us.
Spot on. I was at Lytham for a couple of days, with my Dad and my brother, the year he won from the car park IIRC and it was a privilege to be able to see him play in the flesh for a few holes on one of the days we were there. Truly a genius around the greens.
This is very sad and I hope he pulls through.
Yes, you are right, it was at Lytham St Annes where he played his approiach from the Car Park. Pretty standard par for Seve!
I really am very saddened by the news about his health. We almost take genius for granted, but we should admire them while we can.
In my time, I've seen several, in various spheres. Piggott, of course. Senna & Moss in Motor-Racing. Jimmy White, & now O'Sullivan. Daley Thompson. George Best & Johnny Giles. Laver & Kenny Rosewall. Sobers, Lara & Sir Ian. Seve & Woods. Agostini & Rossi.
And in business, John Kirkland & Warren Buffett are absolute stand-outs, Hansen too, Green, Bill Gates at Microsoft, & the google duo, Page & ? (oops, forgotten his name), the latter pair being probably so far ahead in their thinking it's unreal.
In music, Lennon, Cleo Laine & Nina Simone head a shortish list. Memory failure here.
In Science, Crick & Watson must never ever be forgotten. So far ahead of their time.
You've got me reminiscing now.

Sky
Poker
?
Get me his contact details, & I'll suggest him (which is all I can do) to Sky, but just because he's amusing to watch play "Live", would not necessarily make him a good guest. He seems a little quiet to me, & that would not work, as the Presenter has not got many "windows" to tease out the personality of the Guests.

Seb? Quiet? No no no. Ask him a question and off he'll go. Celtic and Seb for Sky Poker. Please...
Just watched The Vegas Expedition on 865, quality stuff. Hot off the back of watching Sunshine. I'm starting to think maybe I'm too wrapped up in all things gambling. £100 says I am.

get him on the same show as Vinny and the Crow and they'll bring him out of his shell. It'd get you the highest ratings ever too I fancy

read the hand and the thoughts and I cant see how anyone can say it is a correct fold. If you are putting him on 5 hands I think you are vastly underestimating his range. He would not have led imo with the AK as you have correctly said but I doubt he would also lead with a set there- far more likely to go for the check raise option. By flatting his reraise pre I would say you have disguised your hand well so he has the right to believe his KK is still good. You've set your trap but if you are flatting with AA there I dont think there are any flops heads up you should be folding to a lead. Sometimes you have to just say ah **** it if hes got it hes got it and pay the man off.
I would have tikays range there as more likley to be KK, AQs, QKs, 99 or even fresh air than the big hands you are giving him credit for.
Most of the above makes sense apart from the range assigned at the end.
KK and AQ are the only possibilities from Tikay given the pre flop action. AQ is doubtful. I'd need to look back at starting stacks before being sure but I don't think they were particularly deep so AQ is more likely a shove pre.
I may be completely wrong with that shove bit. Like I say it depends on how deep they were but I can't remember which page that was on.
EDIT: Just checked and he is deep enough to raise here. AQ definitely in his range imo. None of the others though.
dont underestimate the old boy- he still has moves. He has been known to make the odd "miss read" when representing a hand. Would love to be able to say yeh of course he has KK- its the only hand he could play that way but thats very easy to say in hindsite. I still reckon AA is way ahead of his range even on that dangerous flop- so far ahead in fact I think its a huge -ev fold. Everyone who is encouraging such dasatrdly folds should be ashamed of themselves- its like patting the local fish on the back telling him he has done nothing wrong. AA is a snap call here and if you are beat then so be it. In the long run you are losing far too much tournament equity if you are folding AA here.
I would never underestimate Tikay. I estimate him exactly as he is and that's a nit
I feel justified in saying this because he considers me a fish even though I'm tight as a gnats chuff. (Anyone know where that comes from?)
Personally I would've gone all in pre against Tikay with AA here. His re raising range definitely doesn't include KQ probably not AQ so he's probably got tt+ or ak and is only folding tt or jj. That makes it 60 40 that he's calling your all in so it's got to be a shove imo.
His bet on the flop screams of KK the more you look at it. I know it's easy with hindsight but what else could it be? He knows that Dean has a hand so would surely slow play anything that had hit that flop.
He slow plays trips or the straight here to get Dean involved. He might even check if he had AA because of the dangerous board.
So TT, JJ, QQ, AK and AA all check but for different reasons with the AA. That only leaves KK so it's a snap call for AA.
If for some reason I'd slow played pre I would shove this flop bet with AA but not because of the thinking I have just given. I would call because I wouldn't have thought anything other than "I've got an overpair, yay!".

Well, it's subjective, but for longevity alone, & she & her hubbie - Johnny Dankworth? - deserve mention.
A wonderful woman, too. Quite old now, I fancy.
