Get me his contact details, & I'll suggest him (which is all I can do) to Sky, but just because he's amusing to watch play "Live", would not necessarily make him a good guest. He seems a little quiet to me, & that would not work, as the Presenter has not got many "windows" to tease out the personality of the Guests.

Just watched The Vegas Expedition on 865, quality stuff. Hot off the back of watching Sunshine. I'm starting to think maybe I'm too wrapped up in all things gambling. £100 says I am.
"The Vegas Expidition" - was that the "Special" of the Vegas trip? I confess, I've never seen it, though Sky gave me the CD (CD, DVD, whatever?) of it. I must try & look it out & take a look. Very happy memories.
On Sunday, relaxing at a friends place, I watched myself on the previous nights "Open" replay, (I don't ever watch TV at home these days) & that's the first time I've ever watched myself on Sky Poker, & it freaked me out. Jeez, how have I survived so long? I was blinking & squinting so much, & too many bad physical mannerisms. Ah well, I know now, & will try & alter them from now on. Roll on Thursday.

read the hand and the thoughts and I cant see how anyone can say it is a correct fold. If you are putting him on 5 hands I think you are vastly underestimating his range. He would not have led imo with the AK as you have correctly said but I doubt he would also lead with a set there- far more likely to go for the check raise option. By flatting his reraise pre I would say you have disguised your hand well so he has the right to believe his KK is still good. You've set your trap but if you are flatting with AA there I dont think there are any flops heads up you should be folding to a lead. Sometimes you have to just say ah **** it if hes got it hes got it and pay the man off.
I would have tikays range there as more likley to be KK, AQs, QKs, 99 or even fresh air than the big hands you are giving him credit for.
Most of the above makes sense apart from the range assigned at the end.
KK and AQ are the only possibilities from Tikay given the pre flop action. AQ is doubtful. I'd need to look back at starting stacks before being sure but I don't think they were particularly deep so AQ is more likely a shove pre.
I may be completely wrong with that shove bit. Like I say it depends on how deep they were but I can't remember which page that was on.
EDIT: Just checked and he is deep enough to raise here. AQ definitely in his range imo. None of the others though.
dont underestimate the old boy- he still has moves. He has been known to make the odd "miss read" when representing a hand. Would love to be able to say yeh of course he has KK- its the only hand he could play that way but thats very easy to say in hindsite. I still reckon AA is way ahead of his range even on that dangerous flop- so far ahead in fact I think its a huge -ev fold. Everyone who is encouraging such dasatrdly folds should be ashamed of themselves- its like patting the local fish on the back telling him he has done nothing wrong. AA is a snap call here and if you are beat then so be it. In the long run you are losing far too much tournament equity if you are folding AA here.
I would never underestimate Tikay. I estimate him exactly as he is and that's a nit
I feel justified in saying this because he considers me a fish even though I'm tight as a gnats chuff. (Anyone know where that comes from?)
Personally I would've gone all in pre against Tikay with AA here. His re raising range definitely doesn't include KQ probably not AQ so he's probably got tt+ or ak and is only folding tt or jj. That makes it 60 40 that he's calling your all in so it's got to be a shove imo.
His bet on the flop screams of KK the more you look at it. I know it's easy with hindsight but what else could it be? He knows that Dean has a hand so would surely slow play anything that had hit that flop.
He slow plays trips or the straight here to get Dean involved. He might even check if he had AA because of the dangerous board.
So TT, JJ, QQ, AK and AA all check but for different reasons with the AA. That only leaves KK so it's a snap call for AA.
If for some reason I'd slow played pre I would shove this flop bet with AA but not because of the thinking I have just given. I would call because I wouldn't have thought anything other than "I've got an overpair, yay!".
I came to the same conclusion...unfortunately after i folded.. i forgot to add i tilted slightly afterwards and lost 2 outer on the river and ran sb into BB Aces.
I think i was still in shock tikay had the temerity to re raise me !!

Ashamedly, no, never. I don't watch TV at home, & I'm usually playing poker, or working, every night. I've been spared......
It (Sky Poker) gets shown in Cardrooms sometimes when I'm there, there is much good-natured derision & pee-taking but truth to tell, I love it, & am quite proud to have got the gig, & held it as long as I have, given my "talent", (steady on guys) both at poker, & TV. I got unbelievably lucky, but given that break, I worked my socks off there to maximise my luck, & so far, I'm well ahead of the game, even if they can me tomorrow. Still look shite on TV though. Well, in the flesh, too.....
I do a Blog for them too, and a weird psychological thing happened.
It was "down" for a bit, but I still got paid the same, the Contract remained unaltered throughout. But when nobody could view it, I struggled to write the piece every week, & what I did pen was sub-par, even by my standards. I just could not bring myself to write it, & it was several days late every week, & really not very good, or not as good as it had been, or should be.
Now, it's "back up", & I had this week's piece written by 3am Monday (it's due in Midday Monday), & this week's piece is so much better.
It made me think of Premiership Footballers playing in the Reserves, & not "doing it", & usually we'd say "gets paid the same, spoilt brat, he needs a good kick up the arse", but suddenly, I understood why. Not an excuse, & I'm much embarrassed by it - I even apologised to Sky for it's paucity - an odd thing the human mind, & how psychology affects us all.

Now that I DO like. The ultimate back-handed compliment!
To be serious about Compo for a moment, how good is he on Telly? As relaxed & cool as can be, & total authority. He could out-cool Lynam.
I suppose I'll get into trouble for this, or offend someone, but as to "Pro" TV Presenters I've worked with, Compo & Orford are something special. Helen is neat, too, but I don't get to work with her much these days. But I'l take any of the Sky Poker Team, they are all good, but in different ways.

I think what gets you by is the fact that you aren't the typical polished presenter. There's a bit of harmless mischief with you that keeps people giggling all through the show. 'ABC' and 'just so' is fine, but can be pretty boring too.
As for the big hand discussion...I reckon that was one heck of a fold by Sicilian and very few genuinely good players could make it, so don't work yerself up over it. Only reason I would have insta called is because I've seen what Tikay raises with...and it's shocking!
The theory of slow playing post flop has been blown out the window in other threads on Blonde over the past 6 months. Seems the new 'correct' move is to push on flops like that if you've hit the monster hand, because everyone assumes you'd slow play the hit...and bluff the miss. Tikay just got dog lucky he was up against a 'thinking' player in this case who didn't fall for the new 'theories'.

So, on Sunday evening, eager to see Mother Hen & collect my ill-gotten gains, I played DTD's Sunday Night £100 jobbie.
I am on a bad run, & it does affect how we play, when confidence is low & "form" bad.
I changed a few things with my game in the two Luton £250's recently, & did OK, just missed one Final, 3rd in the other, in admittedly small & "soft" fields, but the important thing was I played much better.
So I went to Brighton to play two Fessie Side Events - a rarity for me these days - & played as wel as I'm able in both.
In the £300 (well, 15k stack 2 x £150), I was always in control, never dominant, but always maintaining a playable stack, mostly
sans
cards.
But in the Semi, one of those meta-gme things went off, & James Browning & I clashed, almost "unnecessarily", by which I mean, if we were not such good buddies, it would not have happened. He popped my BB a few times, I decided to get ll bolshy with him & played back at him with 9-9, he got all stubborn with 8-8, & flopped his Set to bust me. OK, no worries, I played good, the results will come.
So I played the £200, & really turned up the Lairy-Dial, & was quadruple average within 2 Levels, never been known, I felt like Flushy. But then a few coups went awry, & then I exited in the oddest circumstances, re-popping large with A-K pre, & betting out on the Q-9-6 flop. I got called, & he showed K-6! I must be as transparent as glass. So that was that, a big stack gone. I still felt like Flushy, mind.
So, at DTD, I persevered with the Game-Plan J, & soon had chips again.
Then Woodsey got me off a hand big-time. He made it 400 in early, I re-popped to 1,100 (playing 8k), with A-K, he 3-bet 3k, & I meekly folded, showing my A-K. He showed, kindly, his A-3, & the table gave me serious stick for my dumbass Pass. I felt pretty damn stupid, too, but I can make that Pass all day & all night, & if someone wants to dance with me, fine, I'll dance on my terms, when it suits me. My chips ain't going all-in early doors - Level 2 - pre-flop with A-K when I'm playing 80 BB's in a well-structured Tourney, end of story.
Anyway, I ducked & dived - totally cardless - & ended up 3rd, for £1,060, & was delighted with myself, a good night. The Winner, Shruggy George, was unplayable, hit everything, quads twice in the Final alone. Good luck to him. He's not seen as having much of a game, he gets a bit excited & pre-ejaculates usually, but that was a nice score for a long-term Notts regular.

...and I followed up on Monday at Luton with a third, for a somewhat disappointing £270 I think, plus £100 worth (5 in total) of "Bounty Tokens". After L-L's etc, I ended up about £300 to the good. That'll do nicely, thank you. My aspirations, like my game, are modest, but ample, & I've done with this rainbow-chasing, I've seen so much heartache, walletache & nipperache, & I'm happy where I am in poker now. And I make a little profit.
My next "(semi) serious" Tourney is the G-Luton monthly £250, Friday & Saturday of next week, & I'm looking forward to that

Wednesday & Thursday get all busy & running around.
I am meeting my Bank Manager Bloke (if he still has a job.....) in Loughborough at 10.30 Wednesday, & then have a meet in London at 2pm, so I'll drive down to Luton, dump the car in Luton & jump a train to London, them come back & play the £50+£50, & stay over.
On Thursday, bizarrely, I have a Midday Meeting at the Emirates Stadium with some Casino guys, on Business, & Charlie George is amongst the "Team" I am meeting to chat with about some promotional work. Probably come to zilch, but you never know. Then, in the Evening, the Show, & the Show again on Sunday.

You'll have to remind me. I only remember the hands I play really badly!
Oh yes - I remember now - I got stubborn against your A-Q, right? And bravely called you? I think I had the Aces (card-dead indeed), & just thought "what the heck, let's gamble".
That apart, I've never made so many moves in my life as I did on Sunday. I enjoyed it so much I suffered seepage.

With impeccable timing, I decided to sort my Shares out - or get Chili so to do - & she got them all in neat packages for me, & I trotted off to Natwest to set up a BrokerLine Account, so I could see where I am at financially. There were, literally, hundreds of Share Certificates, many of them "dead", & most of them "scrip dividend" shares in small denominations. But Chili got them all in apple-pie order.
I met Mr Bank Account Manager, but to my annoyance - I have a long-held loathing & contempt for Clearing Bank incompetence & ethicacy, he ambushed me with a Pensions Geezer.
This "Pensions" guy was trying to flog me a Pension, & I got a wee bit tetchy with him. "Do you know how old I am?" I said, as he vainly suggested I "save for the future". Save for my future? At my bloody age? I'm trying to spend it, not save it!
I said "look, I've worked all my life, & saved all my life - what do you think these Shares represent - but now I'm on easy street, coasting downhill, & you expect me, with a limited life expectancy to trust you, a bloody Banker, with all your history of incompetence, with my money?".
Well, it all went a bit quiet after that, & the Pension geezer cleared his throat & said, straight-faced, "so that's a no then is it Mr Kendall?". Not much gets past these Bankers, eh?
I felt like that "I dont belieeeeve it" bloke. Ah well, too bad.
But Karma got me, & I went outside to find I'd got a Parking Ticket.
Which reminds me, I was supposed to answer a Post about all my Parking Tickets a while back - now who asked that? Was it Tractor? And I've got Jim McShane's "has your 10 best & worst impressions of Vegas changed?" question to answer yet. And a bunch of PM's still in the queue. Bugger it, bed awaits.

"Are you afraid of spiders?". Hmm.....Lightens the day I guess.
