"It sometimes appears that Blonde poker is a bit of a side issue, rather than a major part of the blonde community."
It's not, its vital.
The catch-22 is that we have to promote third party sites on a commercial basis because our card-room does not generate sufficient revenue, but the more we promote third parties the tougher it is to generate that card-room revenue.
From what I read I understand how vital it is. It's just that it sometimes
appears
to be less important.
Last night I read through about 15 pages here non stop, just to catch up, so I might easily have missed something, or not got the emphasis right.
But I believe tk was comparing PTP on Sky with trying something similar on Blonde. And concluding that he's less of a superhero here than over there because many people here are more accomplished players than your average Skypokerist. Therefore, there would be no advantage to him putting himself up to be shot at on Blonde.
Which is where I disagree. Over on FT I've seen guys queuing round the block to play against the pros when they appear. Just think how many Sky players could be tempted over here to try to get one over on the 'great' man himself. Not saying play on Blonde instead of Sky, but maybe as well as. I'm sure the sky tables are only full from 9-12 or so, there must be a slot somewhere in the other 140 hours during the week where it wouldn't interfere with their traffic.
Wortha shot imho at the very least

I agree. It would definitely be good on blonde.

Yo. Sweet little Mantis chapter in the diary. So my posts are like trying to make love to a beautiful woman with a pineapple and a box of matches? Wow. What would the man from Del Monte say? However, the fact my posts are long and meaty makes the lethario analogy pretty accurate I suppose.
However, saying the length of my posts is a bad reflection upon my character are the words of a child.
In the last PHA thread it was the usual deal.
I post about the hand in question...
The knockers say....
Quote
What are u talking about?
You can break that down into 7 words.
"DONT SHOVE WHEN A NIT LIMPS UTG"
Stop writing 100 lines of pointless drivel
But the op says....
Quote
Mantis got closest to the truth.
You see, my posts are big, lengthy, very satisfying, and really hit the spot. I find that a lot of the knockers fumble hopelessly around the issue before quitting too early and leaving everyone frustrated.
So it's true, posting on PHA is indeed like making love to a beautiful woman....

I've avoided this topic like the plague because I know how busy you are Tikay, but I have to say it would help more than you know - and I agree with the others 100%. You reckon there aren't enough 'new' players here and more experienced players can't be bothered? The new players look up to you and the 'old timers' on Blonde would enjoy the banter. Win win all around. Don't sell yourself and the card room short. I reckon the more you play on Blonde and it's posted in the forum, the better chance the card room has of turning itself around.

has there never been a promotion on Blonde involving Tikay? a bounty tourney or regular low stake ring game?

ask a question keep a TV presenter up half the night, I'll have to think of a good one for this evening
there was a play cash with tikay night once on blonde and it wasn't very well supported iirc, we didn't fill a whole table.
I was thinking more about how there used to be a blonde sng just about every night, spontaneous rather than planned weeks in advance, I realise tikay you are busier than I could ever imagine but if you had a spare 10 minutes you could put up a post saying you're gonna play a $20 sng or whatever and you'd probably get 5 or 6 people joining you.
I would always be happy playing online cash with tikay because he splashes his chips about and makes it a fun game.
and the don't wanna sit in front of the PC 7 nights a week thing struck a cord as that is all I seem to do now, I wish I liked playing live more, it just seems so slow and expensive. perhaps it's almost time for me to get a job, hopefully one that doesn't involve siting in front of a PC 5 days a week

Thank you for the replies. I need to reflect & absorb them properly before replying.
And I'm in an absolutely foul mood today, thanks to some PM's which have succeeded in thoroughly tilting me.
I expect to last no longer than Level One in tonight's £100-er at DTD if I remain in this mood.

Sorry to side track Tikay but I met the one and only James Browning for the first time yesterday and he was telling me that he won the Open from the studios the other week. Is that just the three of us now or are there any others?
I managed to win a pot off him (one of the very few I won) with a nut flush but he was too tight with his chips or I was so obviously excited to hit the flush (probably the latter).
Good luck tonight, don't know who i am quoting but "Don't let the buggers grind you down!"

Correct, you, James & myself are the only three ever to win "The Open" from the Studio. My excuse was that I got extremely lucky, several times, but I cannot speak for you & James!
James is a fine player live, quite tight, very "old school", but gets more than his fair share of Cashes.
I happen to think his Partner, Lynne Beumont, is perhaps among the best 5 female players in the UK, to, so he must be able to teach the game, too, because he taught her.

No, that's not accurate. Nick Wealthall did most of Kara's poker coaching, though most of the PNL Presenters helped. Probably excluding me, that is.
