Every five seconds a child dies from malnutrition or from (preventable) water-borne disease.  Or is it every 3 seconds?  Yet people seem to be far more concerned with the global threat of 'terrorism' which affects a tiny proportion of people.

Makes better telly though.

Not sure if a poker forum is the best place to discuss these things though.  Or maybe, it is?

It would seem, not, & that's, perhaps, understandable.

The oddity is that blonde Forum contains an extraordinarily eclectic range of topics, many of them far removed from poker. But natural disasters don't seem to be included in our broad church.

Talk about whatever floats your boat Mr P, but I'll not contribute to any religious debates. Wink

Leaving aside rights and wrongs, its tough to see what will resolve this isn't it? No matter how much the Israelis throw at it in military might they aren't going to stop the rocket attacks

worst of all "The UN says at least 62 of the Palestinians killed so far have been women and children, and it is calling for an investigation into the attacks, which are causing heavy civilian casualties "

Certainly an interesting first foreign policy test for President Obama to try and influence from mid January onwards

The solution isn't a military one though, is it?

No. So what's the political solution likely to be acceptable to both?

I'd suggest that not making life completely unbearable for the Palestinians would be a good start.

This is what I refer to as the "frumpy look", but women seem to get very sensitive about that description.

In my experience, only frumpy women get sensitive about it.

Frump

• noun an unattractive woman who wears dowdy old-fashioned clothes

I don't think that definition entirely fits in with that picture.

And as Crow points out she is quite pregnant in that picture so her choice of frocks might be a little limited

She seems to like her pies though.

That photo was taken when she was six months' pregnant with her first kid. She's due to drop the second one very soon.
