An if they do invade my privacy - pick my pocket, as it were - they do it so stealthily & nimbly, that I don't notice
That's a lovely turn of phrase for a Friday afternoon, and I bet you weren't even trying.

Make you're mind up Tony. Google are the biggest and best awsome stuff providers, they are also the people who collect the most data with which to invade your privacy.
But that's different - I like google.

I love google. Deeply.
Why do you use yahoo for email then? Use gmail instead.
Why do you use Internet Explorer if you aren't happy with how it works on your computer? Use Firefox instead.

Besides, he's just gotten used to the idea of using the others despite his dislike for them. Why throw new ones into the mix when they'll only upset the poor man even more?

But Google make GMail for email
and Google make Chrome for internet browsing
Given his love of Google I think even Tikay might take a chance on trying them.

good to see the diary back up and running. I meant to ask you a little while ago tony, what do you think about one of your fave companies, ryanair, installing pay toilets on their flights?

So I was playing a £50 DYM the other week
do you think they're beatable long term with 10% juice?
Good question.
Yes, they are. In my case, just. But I've seen some incredible profits & ROI's for others. (Oh, the joy of Sharkscope, & the power it gives me to nose around).
I actually find them incredibly satisfying, & relaxing. I know, they are not exactly "high-voltage excitement", but (& because?) they are extremely low variance, but I try & nick a few bob here & there, & I'm totally relaxed. But I'm a bit odd in that respect - I only play poker for the pleasure it gives me. And as it costs me nothing, except my spare time.
I do often wonder, how many high-rolling folks at the nosebleed stakes really enjoy -
really
enjoy - Online poker? I see & hear bad beat story after bad beat story, "FML", "I run bad", "this tosser called me with shite" & I do wonder. I'm just not quite sure if, say, 10-tabling is pleasurable, or satisfying. As opposed to simply addictive - as all poker is.
How many times do we read "I just stuck my fist through my lappie screen, some muppet sucked out on me, FML"? And that's what we choose to do for pleasure? It's sado-machowhatsit! I'd be curious to know what they do when they are not enjoying something......
Don't get me wrong - I've been there, seen it, done it. Worse & more than most. But I seem to have landed in a peaceful field, Online & Live, where all is well. Low risk, low returns, but let's not be greedy.
It's an age thing I think.
10% rake will be too much, when people realise basic strategy ie play super tight. Stars are already charging 4% rake for their double or nothings and the games at the higher buyins are only beatable at 5% roi tops, for the very best players. At the moment the £50 efforts on sky are probably very beatable if the standard is as bad as i am led to believe.
Re 10 tabling (well 15 in my case) the majority of people playing this many tables are playing online poker for the money first and foremost. Therefore the enjoyment in the main, comes from the winning and making money. Therefore when you don't win, it isn't a very pleasurable experience at all, well that is what i find.
As a sympton of all this, I can't stand playing less 6 or 7 tables, I get ridiculously bored. When i finish a session I am on here reading threads, or reading the paper to relieve the boredom of only clicking the mouse once every 10 seconds. I think this is why i have completely fell out of love with live poker, it just bores me silly getting 1 hand every 3 minutes. A shame really as i use to enjoy it.

There was a lovely spoof Ryanair Safety Procedures document circulating a couple of weeks ago after the story broke.
In the event of an emergency, oxygen masks will automatically drop in front of you, please insert coins to turn on oxygen supply.
If the plane ditches and you need to open the emergency exit, swipe credit or debit card in the slo and use the number pad to insert your PIN and as soon as the transaction is authorised the door will open and chute will be deployed.
That sort of thing - very well done. The Ryanair boss is a nutter and I suspect he's a source of great frustration to the team that has to clean up behind him.

It was only an internal suggestion that they might consider it wasn't it?
Leaked and soon debunked by O'Leary.

Is that on the flights where the passengers are too tight to pay to use the loos?

In reply to Tighty, I think the head honcho tends to do his internal discussing in the media which is why they end up getting this sort of press. That was certainly implied by one of his team who came out with a public quote a day or so after this broke that effectively said "we can't stop the boss from opening up his gob and shooting from the hip", albeit not in those words of course
