MY favourite Jim Britton story:
I was having a beer in the Horseshoe Bar at Binions with Alan Betson, Scott Gray and Padraig Parkinson when they still had the wsop.
Jim walks by intently looking on the floor as though he was looking for something. Backwards and forwards he walked searching..
After 5 minutes Alan couldn't help himself..
"Looking for something Jim?"
just as he opens his mouth to reply Padraig interjects:
"Yes, friends!"
I may be letting the cat out of the bag.. but I believe Mark Banin was responsible for "Jim the Bandit"
Jim threatened to sue me over something or other too. Can't for the life of me remember what.
I must admit I heard a couple of years after he disappeared I heard he had some sort of illness which led to his erratic behaviour. I immediately regretted teasing him so mercilessly. Although to be fair, he asked for it.

I really didn't see any mob mentality bullying. Flushy made his disdain for the articles clear, as did dubai to a lesser extent then The Dean reacted angrily and was teased for his OTT reaction. It was to my mind was miles away from being worthy of deletion.

I pretty much agree here. Ok some things could have been said differently and a bit more maturely by some parties perhaps I would hardly label this bullying.
The Dean dodged some fairly simple questions and answered others in a rather silly way. It's no huge surprise that he's then going to get a bit of stick when everyone knows he's essentially a bit of a phoney.

It was not Graham Pound.
The Poker Bastards identity? The Camel was the prime suspect according to the goss, but that kite never flew for me. The Poker Bastard wrote too well.
Richard Gryko was another name in the frame.

The Poker Bastard was not me.
At one stage he offered me the chance of putting stuff up on his blog under his name, but nothing came of it.
I honestly don't know who it was, but it was probably some quiet guy who keeps himself to himself and who sees everything but says nothing. The last person you would would expect to be a shit stirrer.
Like the quiet janitor in Hong Kong Phooey.

Marilyn Chambers died on Monday.
Who?
Well I'd never heard of her, either
Mind that flying pig!
I seem to remember seeing a trailer for "Insatiable" in a mainstream cinema, it may even have been shown in mainstream cinemas, so I think more people would have heard of her than your average porn star.

I think she had a bit part in "What's New, Pussycat", but her big success was a porno, "Green Door" or somesuch.

"Behind The Green Door" I believe it was which is apparently a classic of the genre.
I was in Vegas a few years back, I think it was the first year that they had the old Four Queens tourney at the then new Rio, 1997 possibly and there was at that time a porn convention in town also taking place at the Rio, I think it's kind of like the porn Oscars. Anyhow I went into Buzio's the fish restaurant and sat at the bar and a couple of seats to my left was a plumpish middle-aged blonde lady who was sitting alone, and the counter-staff were all making quite a fuss seemingly asking for autographs etc.
Anyhow she finished her meal and left shortly after I arrived and the guy behind the counter asked me if I knew who that was. When I said "no" he said that it was Marilyn Chambers and was incredulous when I told him that I'd never heard of her. "You mean that you've never seen Behind The Green Door?"
She can't have been very old, 60 ?

Jim Britton, what a legend.
I have so many JB stories but only once did i see him silenced, it must have been 2004? We are in a bar in a casino, think it was Barca again, anyway me Rod M3boy and 2 of our mates who don't post where in the bar with Jim, Paul had just done all his money in a cash game and i was sat at the bar consoling him (over a pork-loin sandwich, hmmmm) Jim was spouting his usual shit just a few feet away, Paul just stands up and shouts at the top of his voice "Jim why don't you just shut the fuckup and fuck off" the whole bar was in fits of laughter as Jim sauntered off in the direction of the cardroom.
Others include the hairdresser/hooker story (which includes the video of him podium dancing), the falling asleep at a final and waking to find he has declared himself all in, his supposed hourly rate online, lol
The Bandit and the Bastard i always assumed to be 1 and the same, both were pure genius.

Lol yes Jim was a funny character. Obviously talked so much bs but had the odd moment where he was very very funny, often unintentionally.
That time in barcelona was priceless as M3boy pwned his soul. You forgot Jim's tales of his sexual prowess involving an ironing board, his wife an two tubs of utterly butterly. Delivered in his Irish accent I still tell that tale as it was a cracker.
To be fair to Jim he did tell a funny story once. I forget the exact people involved but someone came up to Jim (Padragi Parkinson maybe?) in one of the big casinos and asked him where the toilets were. Seeing John Duthie near them he said, "yeh sure just walk straight over there and turn right when you get to John Duthie..."
So he sauntered off to the loo.
The next day the same guy came up to Jim and asked him again where the toilets were.
"But I told you yesterday!"
"Yeh but I cant find John Duthie..."
Also, you forgot the Mike McGee story lol. Own up Flushy!

A question for the Invisible Mod, aka RobertHM.
Robert,
Have you ever heard the word "barratrous"?
I was reading some American legal gunge & came across the word, which I'd never heard of previously.
No googling!
