Prompted by nirvana's great Post, I wanna start a "best Businessman" Top 10.

I need to do some dwellage, but here's my starters.

Warren Buffett

Jack Welch

Terry Leahy

Michael O'Leary

John Harvey-Jones

John Kirkland

Sir Arnold

Arnold (later Baron) Weinstock.

Bill Gates

Sergey Brin & Larry Page.

Go on, challenge that.

Clark ??

The Motors fella, that purchased Simon Le Bon's Old Boat?

If its him I am really surprised he makes anyones top business mans top ten.

he's a git through and through

Bonjour Monsieur Frog.

Lyndsey was a Brit - that's good - but he ran a French Company - thats a black mark. Did you know that the Swiss-based Nestle own 25% of L'Oreal?

I do hope, Mr Frog, you are well, & in good heart.

Sorry!

Typo by me - now corrected - I was referring to Arnold Weinstock.

I have never heard of Arnold Clark.

No Greenberg?

Which Greenberg - Alan Greenberg, who took Bear-Sterns to bankruptcy? No!

But I've always wanted to read his book, "Memos from the Chairman", which is on my Bucket List.

Good to hear from you just now, welcome home. I dare you to tell that story, about the trip home......

Sir Arnold Clark whilst succsessful has Sh1t on so many people and crushed many local and ( up until the point he decided to use less than above board methods ) profitable companies.

Yes, Mr Frog, I joke with you, & insult you nicely, because, really, I like you muchly. I'm very surprised you read this Diary though - are you bored or something? Do you not have snails to eat, women to wine & dine, English people to be obnoxious to?

Oh, & no, LOJ was NOT Welsh, he was English, but his parents were Welsh.

Cardiff & Swansea, yes, they are utterly dreadful. They are to London what Marseilles is to Paris.

Sam Walton?

Arnold Lever?

Thomas Watson?

Andrew Carnegie?

all candidates to my mind

of tikay's list I'd take exception to Leahy and O'Leary on grounds of insufficient longevity and Harvey Jones..ICI  strategically was a mess under him, later reinvented himself as a corporate consultant. JHJ was a master self promoter, not a great businessman
