I'm a little confused as to why there is no preliminary round if the original plan was for 64 runners...

Planned for 64, but with the proviso that it would become a 32 runner event if we did not fill enough places. We would have accepted up to 10 byes but no more. The number of entries we received would have required 23 byes, hence it became a 32 runner event.

I think an extra £1,500 on top of the £3,000 ME is a fair whack of money. Reduce the buy-in next year perhaps to £1k or even £750? The appeal of being drawn against some of the more well known players for a relatively low sum would increase incentive. Also, they could get lucky and draw Flushy.

I totally forgot about this (plus a bit too pricey for a side event). Looks like fun, but if I want to watch some of these matches e.g. Flushy I might have to actually get there at 1:30 for fear of missing it. That's too much like morning. Are there ME satellites running this week?

7 should be interesting, if just for the verbals that will go on over there.
Looking forward to 1...although I suppose I should pay most attention to match 2. Yeah, I'm screwed.
enjoy!

Wow, what a field. Arguably the two best Heads Up Players in the world (Jeff Kimber and Dan Carter) in a tourney of 32 great (and not so great) players
Anywhere I can find the updates on this?
Are Dan and Jeff in different ends of the draw. If so, that's got to be a fix. j/k Mr Rabb

Such modesty from the man who demolished Flushy heads-up in one hand..
