Hi guys, my first ever post.

Im a journalist in Essex and just letting you know its beautiful here: clear sky, about 2 degrees and no ones bringing me free pizza.

Just want to know who you think is looking strong for a final table birth?

Golly, that's a tough question. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that we shall be watching an all American final, most likely brimming with young, fearless teenagers. However, never count Nick Gibson out, he has a cracking little record and is due to go deep in one of these. A double up in the near future and he could be in with a great chance.

Rizen, for sure. (Eric Lynch)

There haven't been too many Irish sightings this week, but one that has recently reared his head is this chap, Rory Brennan, tootling along quite nicely with 110,000.

The very hand prior to Julian Thew's timely double-up, PokerStars sponsored pro and former champion Steve Paul-Ambrose made what he may have believed to be a faux pas, his departing comment of "oh, I didn't realise you had so much" perhaps explaining why his 80k re-raise of Adam Brager's late position 8k raise was so chunky. But even so, Brager had a tough decision to make for a large pot, and one that he decided to take a stab at with . Paul-Ambrose, meanwhile, will have been relieved to see that his was coinflipping, but not so laid-back when the board came . Paul-Ambrose quickly exited stage left leaving Brager to encapsulate his arms around a nice meatalicious pot.

Finally, double-barrelled names, surely a sign of marital weakness with the fiance putting her foot and refusing to lose her surname?

Yes, I heard Vaness Selbst call him that. I assume he's a big online player?

Duy Lee has just stubbed his toe in a major way. On a board, he raised a 30k bet by another 75k. His unfazed opponent moved all-in for a remaining 25k on top, and there was roughly 190k (!) in the pot but Duy folded. Could you fold no hand no draw there? (with roughly 200k back?)

Here he is next to Hakor Bentsen. (Just remove all the blues from Duy Lee's stack in your mind)

One face that disappeared earlier was that of Bill Edler in a horrible hand against Victor Ramdin. Victor raised, Bill re-raised and Victor felt Bill was re-stealing, so decided to go for the re-re-steal with 5-4. Edler was holding Kings ... It didn't matter when the flop came 6-7-8 though...

I'm afraid you can bid that farewell as Isabelle Mercier never really got going and eventually departed a level or two ago.

Daniel Negreanu is OUT. He made his swan song with Q-Js, but ran into Aces. A 2-K-6-4-K board was of no use. I think he mumbled something about wishing it had happened a few hours ago instead.
