Luther Blissett

Graham Roberts

Steve Sedgeley.

They are all Studio Guests in tonight's "The Open" on Sky Poker, & I'm given to understand they are footballer chappies. Old footballer chappies. I've just met them, Luther is a real cool dude, Graham is grey - & thus very old - & Steve is ruggedly handsome in a sort of Steve Claridge way.

Got any useful info I can toss at them?

Luther Blissett played for Watford under Taylor alongside John Barnes then got a big move to AC Milan.

Rumour had it that Milan thought they were buying John Barnes

Needless to say Luther did not last long at Milan

Lives in Rickmansworth and is now working as a coach for the FA

Roberts played in cup finals for Spurs and has managed non-league clubs in Essex. A rugged central defender

Sedgley played in a Cup final for Spurs but played mostly for Coventry. a tough tackling midfielder

Blissett was a legend.  First black player to score a hat-trick for England.  Didn't score in an international after that though.

Played for Watford, AC Milan and some other clubs that I forget.

Ask Luther about his time playing for AC Milan, first story that is always connected with it is they confused him with John Barnes (at Watford at the same time) and signed the wrong player. Also there was some political minority group in Italy who were AC Milan fans who all changed their name to Luther Blisset for some bizarre reason in the 80's.

Graham Roberts and Steve Sedgley were both Spurs defenders.

ask Luther if he ever gets the chance to watch Fakenham Town (for whom he used to play)..........and ask him if Fakenham will ever be as good as Dereham Town.    (local derby opponents)

Luther went from Watford to AC Milan, allegedly when they signed him instead of John Barnes by mistake (best not mention that though).

Graham Roberts was a bit of a hard-man who played centre-half for Spurs in early 80's, certainly took no prisoners in the tackle (was in the winning 81 Cup final team along with Ossie Ardiles and Ricky villa amongst others) - last time he was on the open he called a big re-raise with K 3 off and hit two pair to double-up against a guy with pocket aces.

Steve Sedgeley played for several teams including Spurs,Coventry and Wolves in the early 90's mainly and was a bit of a versatile player, must have played in pretty much every outfield position bar centre-forward during his career.

Not sure if any of that is of help though lol.

You could always say to him that you intended to get John Barnes on Sky Poker, but a mistake was made...

Great stuff, thank you very much. We will chat with them in-depth at the top of the Show.

We have a bit of a Footie Quiz, involving all three of them, as a Spot Prize tonight too - a football signed by all thee is on offer to do with as you so desire.....

Incidentally, try googling Team 48, or Project 48. It's a Race-Car Team, planning to enter the Le Mans 24 hour in 2010, of which Luther is a Driver. He's wearing the Team 48 Logo, too. His poker alias is "WIND-RUSH" which is something to do with "WindRush" that happened in 1948. (eh?).

And graham Roberts is my hero ... scored a cracker in the uefa cup final against anderlecht which spurs won on pens, rookie keeper Tony Parkes with the heroic penalty saves ...

I also remember Graham Roberts picking up something a fan through on the pitch in the same game ... he lobbed it straight back and made the internationally recognisable sign for "you are mental" to the offending fan.

im gonna have to mail the show now, grandad, if you see this in time, tell Roberts I love him xxx
