Is Allin J Rappaport wearing tails and have a large cigar clenched between his teeth and a bigger moustache than Red-dog ?

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

No, he's not even here, but please feel free to post your own groucho marx photos and/or photoshop efforts.
Meanwhile, some poker has been played, some of it well, some of it frankly inexplicably. Almost as soon as I'd entered the cardroom, I witnessed the bizarre exit of Mr Guy Steel (below, walking off, possibly consumed with shame). To be fair to the man, I didn't actually see what happened in the early stages of the hand, but when I joined them at the table, Steel was all in on a
flop and a gent two to his left (apparently a late entry so he's not on the list, but I think we saw him having problems signing into the casino; if it's the same guy he's called Hoang) was dwelling up. Eventually he called.
Hoang -
- hmm, ok, pretty loose at this stage, I guess, but -
Steel -
- ummm
Turn and river -
and
respectively. O-kay...

Another notable exit, this one courtesy of Phil from AWOP who's currently sending rude replies to Junglecat's emails while he's out of the room, is that of Michael Arnold.
Apparently Dave Smith bet 600 on a
flop and Arnold called. Matthew Franklin made it 3.5k and Smith got out of the way but Arnold called.
The turn comes
and Franklin shoves; Arnold calls.
Arnold -
and the the 5 of something for the made straight on the flop
Franklin -
for the made flush.
Here is early foldee in this hand and Last Year's Winner Dave Smith:

Another hand from Table Last Year's Winner:
The board reads
and Koroush Nikkhahe (prize for anyone who can spell that out phonetically for me - Junglecat's best effort has been "Caress My Car Key") bets 1600. After some considerable dwelling, he folds, and is shown a third Six to make the Devil's own trips for his trouble. "Did I make a good fold?" chirps up Roberto Romanello, "Q-6?" Obviously no-one believes him, but the little smile from Nikkhahe suggests that he may well have been holding a full house.

The early levels of poker events tend to be replete with slightly bleary-eyed and tired players, quietly working their way through the shallow blinded levels until the more exciting later levels kick in and they awake from their lethargic slumber and begin to chatter and move chips about more animatedly.
There are exceptions to this rule of course. Roberto Romanello is one of the obvious examples of this... As I traversed the rows of zombie-esque players, many of who seem barely concious, Roberto's stream of incessant chatter immediately drew my attention...
He was involved in a pot with Dave Smith on a
flop and Dave had just moved in for 2k or so...
"What have you got Dave? You want a call? I can't beat much! Do you have T-J? I can beat that! Do you have a pair??"
"I don't have a pair" Dave told him before Roberto laughed "How can I fold?" and called.
"I've got trips" said Dave to a ripple of laughter from the assembled onlookers drawn in by Roberto's patter like moths to a loud, welsh light.
"Haha, I'm drawing dead then" said Roberto showing
to Dave's rather juicy Q-Q set...
Dave "Dubai" Shallow was quiet, looking like he may have had a late one (or two) recently. Tut tut!
Still, he also looked as if he might have added a chip or two to his quietly growing stack at this early stage so perhaps it is all a cunningly designed ploy...
