Come on Mick thats a bit unfair, the updaters are doing a good job.
I cant imagine blokes of our size covering that kind of distance any quicker and managing to be humourous / informative at the same time. Can you?

I must be the only one thinks this, BUT these are the WORST UPDATES ever. Wheres the chip counts, no flair and its slower than a tractor on the M25 in RUSH HOUR on the M25.
Come on, APPROX CHIP COUNTS WILL DO.
Yep, think you're on your own.
Somehow l don't think l am, but l am telling it how it is. Jen and Adam updating is worth reading, and is interesting and makes u feel as though your there with the way they deliver them.
These UPDATES are lifeless and boring.
I'm enjoying them. Maybe you should go elsewhere for your updates? Or ask for a refund?

Jen has been super busy since those last chip counts went up, blossoming her burgeoning stack into half a million or so chips and she is very likely to be the new chip leader now as we approach the run up to the final table.
Here's a reminder of the payout structures.
1st Place £86,800 plus seat in Grand Final
2nd Place £46,200
3rd Place £30,800
4th Place £22,400
5th Place £16,800
6th Place £14,000
7th Place £11,200
8th Place £8,400
9th Place £5,600
10th Place £4,200
11th Place £2,800
12th to 15th £2,240
16th to 21st £1,960
22nd to 27th £1,680
The competition looks pretty open at this stage. Julian Thew has played sensibly all day today and finding himself near the summit as we approach the final means he will be a big threat to take down his 2nd GUKPT and roughly 27th title(ish) in a few months...
Jen Mason's reputation should be spreading far and wide given her propensity to accumulate chips and run deep in virtually every worthwhile live event she plays. Can she put the icing on the cake, shake off her denigrating bacon-hair tag and take down her first GUKPT?
The highly experienced Joe Grech is also very well stacked and his breadth of experience in these situations should give him an edge that lots of players here won't have.
Steve Jelinek is another highly consistent player and he has kept himself well in contention all tournament and has to be taken seriously as a contender to take down the trophy.
Who will win...?
I'm off to join Dana as we approach the last few furlongs to see who can make it through to do battle tomorrow on the final table.

Mick, I think you're way out of line here. If you honestly don't like the updates, then perhaps you should go to another site instead. I covered Brighton last year and after the Vic, it has the longest distance between the media room and the competition area, combined with some dodgy wireless, makes regular updates hard to deliver. And as Rod (and I'm sure Flushy) can testify, it's not exactly the most spacious or well laid out casino that Grosvenor have.
If you have any problems with the updates then you should be PM-ing me about them rather than putting it on the thread.

Wow! I'm very surprised at your comments Mick. Infact i think your comments are just plain rude and certainly could have been put more constructively.
"but l am telling it how it is" This is YOUR opinion- you haven't asked for any information at all and a lot of the basic information they used to give is now in the tournament clock at the top of the thread. As for anecdote and humour- that is subjective, this isn't by any stretch the most action packed update i have read however i realise (as should you as a regular circuit player) the effort and constraints the updater's go through to provide us with FREE information about a comp we are interested in.
Once again Updater's thank you, and please don't feel this is the opinion of all.

Nothing wrong with the updates apart from my perennial problem.............NOT ENOUGH NORKAGE...............carry on the good work JC and Dana.......as far as I'm concerned the Beagle should be banned from updating duties for failing to supply any Bahamian Norkage the other week.
