Unlucky. Was the 6 max a bit like a rollercoaster without a seatbelt?

Actually, it was fun. it was great to play so many flops.

Had a good weekend. Heavy on fun, light on sleep.

Enjoyed the pokerz immensely. Bust out of the £300 in 40-odd'th, then pwned Thewy for a while in the 6 Max before going on to finish 9th for £308, which was very welcome.

When I left my old pal Typhoon Trevor was still going strong. He's been running bad lately, (Pokerwize that is, in his everyday life, he runs like God). Trev's one of the good guys, I hope he got the lot.

It was nice to hook up with Tony. We speak on the phone most days, but rarely meet in person.

I have to say he's looking disconcertingly well for a man of his age, Julian asked me what his secret was, and quizzed me as to the possibility of him having a....  how shall I put it... a amoureux d'adolescent stashed away somewhere.  Of course, that was something I could neither confirm or deny.

Anyway, my work/stuff to do diary is bulging this week. Today I have to get my hair cut and put together some informal exercises for a cultural awareness training session with a group of health workers.
On tuesday I have to go to Oxford on a private matter.
Wednesday I deliver said training.
Thursday I have a Black & Minority Ethnic meeting in Long Eaton.
Friday I'm writing a report on the impact of the proposed withdrawal of Circular 01/06, and going to the doctors with my arse.
Saturday. I'm playing the GUKIPT.

Smoke me a low fat kipper.....

Interesting group name. Is one of the agenda items why one minority group gets different treatment to the others?

I'm guessing he is refferring to it being called the "Black and Minority Ehtnic meeting" rather than just the "Minority Ethnic meeting"

I think he was wondering why the group isn't called "Minority Ethnic" instead of "Black & Minority Ethnic"?

Just struck me as as I was scanning through that why is 'Black' singled out for a specific mention while everyone else gets lumped into effectively 'other'. I'd  have expected political correctness to have ensured the group nomenclature was less divisive.

I take your point.

I suppose that it's because while the issues faced by black people are in many ways similar to those faced by minority ethnic groups, in this sense, "Minority Ethnic" refers to groups who represent a tiny fraction of the population, and that isn't really accurate when referring to black people.

I actually brought this very question up at one of the meetings, and was given a bewildering array of answers, most of which I've forgotten. I do remember someone saying that the "Black" group was a stand alone group untill they joind forces with the "Minority Ethnics"

I also remember someone saying "This organisation was formed before political correctness went silly"

It really should be written down in their constitution, in black and white...

You can register to use the sky player on your laptop for free if that would in anyway be useful?

No, have Sky plus with HD box but don't subscribe to HD or to sports / movies.

Sky quoted me £10.75pw for Multiroom, but they want £99 for the box + £30 installation.

Could be, but my broadband signal doesn't quite reach the girl's trailer si I would have to boost that. Also, they particularly wanted the Sky plus facility.
