Geez, come up with something tricky ffs. Not even needed the first cuppa yet.

Why are hemorrhoids called "hemorrhoids" instead of "asteroids"?
Strange really, as both are linked uranus...

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Seve Ballesteros died this morning.
I never met him, and I'm not a golfer, but he was one of my heroes.
Seve is (was) just a year older than me. He was a young man when I was a young man, and in his prime when I was in mine, so, golf fan or not, it would have been impossible for someone like me, a people watcher, a not to notice this incredibly talented, charismatic young man striding across my tv screen so often.
It would have been impossible not to become caught up in the drama of his exploits, the joy and pride of his triumphs, or the anguish of his defeats.
Seve was a user-friendly hero. He wore his heart on his sleeve, and frequently allowed his emotions to bubble up above the surface, making it easy for someone ordinary like me to imagine myself in his shoes.
Sevie shared all his greatest battles with us. Well, all except his last one that is. This he fought in private, with stoicism and quiet dignity.
He died as he lived, trying with every ounce of his being to overcome insurmountable odds.
I for one wouldn’t have bet against him.
RIP

Diet.
Got to my target weight over a month ago, had no trouble maintaining it until this week. Now I can't stop eating. I start out OK, and then slip off the wagon as the day progresses.
Bread and chocolate are my two main weaknesses.
Help! Why is this happening to me all of a sudden? Is it just a blip?

Is bread the mother of all evil when it comes to dieting ? I could probably do with shifting a couple of pounds myself but would rather not bother if it means no bread

Cutting out the carbs was a big help. no bread, rice, taters or pasta.

the wife lost 2 1/2 stone recently not eating meat wheat or dairy. my fighting weight was 12 stone 6 but thats was many moons ago and am carrying 3 stone on top of that. been a bit breathless swimming and running lately but the thing that frightened me most was i thought i was going to have a heart attack in the bedroom the other day. i'm 41 and the 3 boys are only coming up to 3 n 4 in the next couple of months but want to be around playing football etc for at least another 15 years. now would be a good time for me to attempt a diet

A very sad loss indeed Tom. He was also one of my heroes for the exact reasons you mentioned. I followed him around the Belfry in the early 90's when he was partnering Mark James. Wonderful to watch. He also had a cheeky sense of humour I thought. A gentleman, a genius, a legend.
RIP the great man.

I've been keeping my diet low carb for most of this year on the whole. I've fluctuated between 18 stone back in 2007 to 14 stone when I went on a health kick after my first MS attack. I got lazy in 2010 and by Jan this year had jumped back up to 16st 7 so action was needed.
I've been kicking along nicely eating the same as you there and got down to 14st 12 over 4 months. It takes me a bit longer as I can only lift weights and due to my MS cardio is a no go because of my spasticity/clonus. I was in a great routine and flying along nicely with a lb or so most weeks coming off.
Since easter though I've got into the same rut as you and my 2 biggest weaknesses are also bread and chocolate too along with takeaways. I've not put too much weight on and only gone back up to 15st 2 but it's still annoying that my willpower is so weak I can't walk passed the bread bin or the sweet drawer in the fridge
I'd say it's just a blip and that you'll get back into your routine sooner or later when you decide enough is enough (I hope so anyway because I need to get this last stone off before vegas lol). You've done the hard work already so it's not a big problem in the scheme of things, one of my neurologists says that 'holidays' from the diet aren't all that terrible in the long run as long as they don't last excessive periods.
