It's about her pursuit of her guitarist, len Tuckey. They later married, so she did indeed "can the can" but divorced 8 years later

"Make a stand for your man, honey, try to can the can"
"Put your man in the can, honey, get him while you can"
"Can the can, can the can, if you can, well can the can"

But why "Can the can"?

Why not "Bottle the bottle" or some such for instance?

no idea, presumably can the can fit the cadence of the song more, and was hipper in 1973 songwriting vernacular.

The original lyrics were "can the man". However, this was considered too, man-hungry, risque even, for the 1970's audience. Hence "can the can".

nb all the above stated in my best Frank Muir voice

By the way, Richard, if not too personal a question why aren't you able to make it to the BB this w/e ?

So is a gazebo basically a house with a conservatory, but without the house ?

Suzi Quatro - Can the can.

What does "Can the can" mean anyway? It's been puzzling me since 1973.

Brought to mind a childhood limerick:

A canner exceedingly canny
One day remarked to his Granny,
A canner can can
Anything that he can,
But a canner can't can a can can he?

China earthquake. You look at the pictures, but it's difficult to comprehend what you're seeing.

I've experienced quite a few earthquakes whilst over in Japan, but obviously nothing approaching anywhere near the scale of the one in China.  Even a small earthquake can be a frightening experience, but when buildings are crashing down all around you it must be terrifying.

Being buried under the rubble and hoping to be rescued doesn't bear thinking about.
