Anyway, never mind all that. Have you rotovated, and has anything got laid in your yard?

Well there's a black labrador pup expected any minute...

Lol. Bawtry auctions. That brings back memories of my first Ford Capri's. More deals were done outside than in when we used to go as lads.

Yep. I used to be part of the traders 'Knock' at Bawtry auction.

Other things I remember from Bawtry are a fantastic chippy and a Crown Derby shop.

I saved for weeks to buy Mrs Red a big Crown Derby soup tureen and plate for her anniversary. On the big day, I brought it home in a cardboard box tied with a ribbon.

Thirty-odd years later, she confessed to being disappointed when she opened it because she thought it was going to be a puppy.

Our puppy will be on best behaviour ffs!  No messing about with the neighbourhood floozies on my watch.

Not rotovated the back garden yet.  Not christened it yet either.  Too many neighbours around us and Techno keeps me in line, don't ya know.

Don't mind that once he doesn't take up the same habit your moles seem to have.

The moles and I have reached an agreement. They come in the autumn, stay as long as they like, (Usually until late spring) Then they leave, I clean up after them and everyone's happy. (Except me).

China's death row TV hit: Interviews Before Execution

I was going to post a brief synopsis of this story, but there are so many jaw-dropping statements in it that I may as well just link the whole thing.

Put a fake heron next to pond
And or net over plus few bits tin foil on bamboo poles as bird scarers

I've managed to rig up a deterrent, and since then (fingers crossed) the heron seems to have lost interest and hasn't been back.

Is the heron-deterrent a cardboard cutout of tikay with a camera?

Cheesy

Needs more love.

I loved it a lot in the first place.

Today I spotted a cock bullfinch on the top of a hedge. Calling and capering about like a goodun he was. So much so that I was able to sneak up close enough to take his picture.

After a performance like that I knew there had to be a hen around somewhere.

Sure enough, sitting quietly in the shady part of the hedge...
