Hi Tom.Great read.I saw your post to the young lad requesting advice on where to travel to in the world. You suggested The Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District and be a life tourist. So true. The wheels look great.Nothing beats your own bed and brew wherever you travel. Must get one.Hope to see you down at DTD again soon.

Oh yes Ian. It can be such fun if you like that sort of thing.

When we're out with the camper we make our plans as we go along. Stay if we like, move on when we like.

I'll admit that the overnight stay with the juggernauts in the lay-by doesn't look very exciting, but it was actually a wonderful night.

Before settling down we stopped at Morrisons and bought a couple of good steaks, a bag of washed salad and a nice bottle of Merlot. Then we settled down to watch a few of episodes of Cold Feet on DVD. The next morning there was a tremendous storm, so I made some bacon sandwiches and mugs of tea and we stayed in bed until noon, listening to the rain lashing against the windows and reading our books.

It was lovely.

Love lying in bed when it's throwing it down outside, and doing something relaxing.

As the quote that is often falsely attributed to Bertrand Russell says:

"The time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time."

Thanks Guy, but you have no idea how much swearing and gnashing of teeth went into it.

Believe it or not one of the worst things to do was fit a stereo into a vehicle that had no stereo infrastructure. There were no exposed live wires, no auxiliary, no earth, no antenna, no fuses, and the hole in the dash wasn't wide or deep enough.

What a nightmare. I cried real tears.

Does that 'allotted span' refer to the time you get in bed, or the time for reading?

It refers to the total life time allotted to you by God.

When God writes about Gypsies he does the same.

Pity the Government and the National press can't take a leaf out of our book.

It's a great little bit of kit Tom.

Will you be able to convert it into a Mr Whippy van during the summer months should any occur?

There may not be sunny months, but there will be summer months Ralph. I promise.
