Thank you.

I almost did a post about poker today.

i guess you could lower your diary to talking about poker... but i find the refreshing discussions in here and clips like that... a great break from the spew of my attempt to play this silly but awesome game in a serious manner.

So these are the results for February. My first month back playing live cash poker after a break of almost two years.

I know it's not much to write home about by most people's standards, but I'm really chuffed.

Wish me luck for March  Tongue

Gl for March.

I thought the expenses were on the high side considering the fact that I didn't hit any kerbs or anything.

It's the price of bloody diesel that does it. £1.43 per litre.

~£10 a session, do you take a packed lunch Cheesy

£15 an hour beats working, that's like £22 cards in.

Well done Tom, most people don't take that much home per month. GL for March.

A combination of things really. I was on a bad run and I had some obligations outside of poker which virtually gg'd my bankroll.

A big contributing factor to my bad run was poor game selection. I was playing the exciting, bantertastic, ego driven games rather than the softer, cheaper ones. It's great fun, but mixing it up with the likes of Mitch, Neil Giblin et all every night is definitely -EV for a player of my limited ability.

This is a more difficult concept to put in to words, but I've also come to realise that while it's a fantastic resource, the advice from the PHA board was stifling me. I was more worried about doing the 'right' thing than doing what I wanted to do.

This month was a good month. I had fun and made a bit of profit. Next month might be crap, but if it is I can always go back into retirement.

Nice work Tom.

If you weren't on a diet how much more do you think your expenses would be?

I'm on a diet. Plus I played at least 4 sessions on the way home from meetings and on those occasions I can claim back my travel costs.

Well at least one meal per night at ~ £10, so probs another £200. Which I wouldn't begrudge BTW, it's nice to have a hot meal served to you whole you're playing poker.

One night, (well, I say night, it was morning really) last week, after DTD closed, I went to Gala on Alex's recommendation.

According to the girl on the desk, I hadn't been in since January 2006.
