Surprisingly I have a chunk of iris missing after a playgorund protractor incident.

Is this the same story or a better one involving a girl called Iris?

Same one but the protractonist protagonist was a girl named Tracy

Lots of punny stuff itt today.

Subtle unlike normal

That may have just be the most subtle compliment that you've ever given me. At this rate I may have to forgive your poor marksmanship.

Ps- I think I was a victim of a random mutation. I mean, consider the evidence...

it might be something that makes them faster, stronger, 'sexier'....

Why oh why do electric kettles make so much noise?

Ours sounds like a dustbin full of boulders rolling down a hill. I have to pause the telly until it's finished boiling.

Also, does anyone else boil the kettle and then forget to pour the water on to the tea bag, meaning they have to boil the kettle again, which means they have to pause the telly again?

Or, do you remember to pour the water on the the tea bag, and then forget the entire thing for about an hour until everything is stone cold?

Then do you try to re-heat it in the microwave?

If I do that I also have to remember to pour the cold tea into a different cup. One without a gold rim.

So many things to remember....

I don't drink much tea (and don't drink any coffee), so there's just Lyndsey in the house who needs to make a cuppa (or obviously, I make one for her as I'm a gent).

Anyway, we've got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VKJ318-Hot-Variable-Dispenser/dp/B002NGNRHC/  really good for making a single cuppa, and obviates disasters like those you outlined above.  Not so good if you're making several cups of tea though - for that a kettle is easier.

We, as a family, make ~ 30 cups of tea per day.

And those hot water dispensers as opposed to the boiling water dispensers that are kettles are anathema to tea-drinkers.

It's just so important that the water is as close to boiling as possible when making tea, even one cup with a tea-bag, which is why even if the kettle has boiled ten seconds before I will still make it boil again before adding it to the cup.

Correct Ralph. The water has to be boiling, not boiled.

Though I don't think 10 seconds will make much difference, reboiling water can't be correct.

If you reboil it will have too little oxygen and it tastes all wrong. If you don´t get it right first time then start again imo.
