Yes.

The curtains will have a black lining facing the window so that when they are drawn they won't be visible through the glass.

I don't want this to look like a camper from the outside.

You're doing a great job on it!  What type of van is it?  I'd a Berlingo that was similar....minus that bit on the top.

It's a Fiat Doblo. They use em as taxis and WAV's.

BTW- If anyone wants a complete set of wheelchair access equipment - Ramp, remote control winch, webbing, seat belt, floor anchors etc, give me a shout.

I had one of these in my twenties travelling round Europe. Great on the flat & downhill, but 3 days to get over the Alps!

Just turned 50, but seems like only yesterday since that trip. I'll be having another road trip this summer to Corsica, but not in anything as stylish as a vintage VW Camper.

I'd bought it at Brands Hatch Car Auctions for a grand I think & re sold in the same auction for £300 a few years later. Loved that van, always regret getting rid of it.

I've got used to the modern car & never having to open the bonnet, in fact I'm not sure were the bonnet catch is on my car. Not practical at all 

Three or four days circuitous route to Nice. Ferry to Calvi on Corsica. Then a week touring the island. Finally a mad & exhausting drive toward Calais to catch the ferry back home.

Corsica is stunning. A bit of untouched Europe. Wild remote villages in the mountains with their own bandit traditions.

Will you pre book hotels or find them as you go?

What is Corsica like from a safety aspect?

Don't bother opening your bonnet, there's nothing mendable under there these days anyway. Just rely on the dashboard messages and warning lights and let the on board computer do the worrying.

Was there 10 years ago & only saw parts of the south. This time will be in the north.

The remote areas still have the strong tradition of independence & banditry. Plenty of bullet holes in road signs. Never had any problems, other than strange looks tourist get from locals when you try reversing a car down a narrow mountain track 

We'll have a tent, but can often find small local accommodation by asking in bars or cafe.

I did the same, loved my camper van. I googled its number plater a month or so ago and found it still alive and well and is used by a hire company for trips to Cornwall, weddings and stuff.

They rent her out for £650 a week, not a bad little earner. And now worth 15K+ i would imagine.
