Imagine if Michael Buble had a brother who worked for Tefal, well that's my current mental image of you.
This made me lol. A lot.
Tal, you either took this really well, or..... it went completely
over your head
I guessed what the reference might be to, but I haven't seen the adverts Urban Dictionary has since guided me to. Suspect I don't want to, either.
I'm too sensitive a flower for such japes, I'm afraid.
Noooo!
Please don't make me feel bad. You're not the only one who's sensitive.
Aw! Me too!
Thing is though, I save my insults for people I like. Do you think I'd waste such razor sharp witticisms on any old so and so? I think not. My sarcasm is legendary, ask any of the people who used to be my friends.
But its no fun if its one-sided, and though I'm positive you could tear me to shreds with some stunning riposte, your obviously far too nice for that, so I'll restrain myself in future.
(But if we ever meet in real life your defiantly getting a wedgie)

A government quango has suggested people "wear light and loose clothing" and "drink plenty of fluids" during the heatwave
Thank God they told me that.
I was going to go out wearing Ugg boots, a puffa jacket and three scarves after eating lots of solids before they said that.

Pretty sure when the government quango issued that advice about how to cope with the current weather, it didn't have Camels in mind.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?

Scientists in Hungary have invented see-through concrete. Filled with optical fibres that run from one end of a poured piece of concrete to the other, these prefabricated blocks and panels effectively transmit light from one side to the other.

I still find it fascinating that all objects aren't see-through. Most of an atom is 'empty space', and the nucleus is so small compared to the space covered by the orbits of the electrons, it's surprising that photons don't get through any material. It's how these electrons interact with photons that makes a material transparent or opaque.
Professor Moriarty (yes, that's his name) helps explain what happens:

the thing i don't understand is if e is in units of badbeat rage and m is in units of baked potatoes does e still equal mc
2
? Is it an actual relationship between e and m or does it just mean there's a feckin unbelievable amount of e in m btw?

e = energy
m = mass
the equation shows that they are actually the same thing, just in a different form. In other words, you can take energy and make mass; you can take mass and make energy. As mass is multiplied by the square of the universal constant (speed of light in a vacuum), it also shows why there is so much energy that comes out of a nuclear reaction - where mass is converted into energy. Hence why the sun's so hot.
