Yeah, I get that a lot too.

I haven't met you or seen a picture of you btw...

You might look back on this moment nostaligically Cheesy

Imagine if Michael Buble had a brother who worked for Tefal, well that's my current mental image of you.

Tal is easy to spot in DTD, he's the one with the pointiest shoes.

Ha!!

Plausible...I might have the odd pair of pointy shoes. Never know when you might be called upon to pick a winkle. Have had no need to creep around brothels as yet.

Has Redsgirl been to the RSC, yet? Am expecting a TR (thesp report).

Aaaaaaaaanywaaaaaaaayyyyy...

Your dad and winkle pickers?

In the early 60's he worked for his cousin who made shoes and pretty much started the winkle picker craze of the day. The even made Pathe News and a Cliff Mitchlemore show not sure of the name maybe Tonight or something similar.

My dad is the one polishing the shoes at around 1:40.

Amazing!

Fashion and particularly its history is something so wonderful to study.

I saw a documentary on Sir Paul Smith and he revealed where his iconic patterns came from: everyone was sick of the same boring materials and colours so he started making things out of curtains. Then the big music folk wanted to wear "different" clothes to everyone else, so would bring curtains to Sir Paul to turn into jackets and suits.

Curtains!

Basically, any picture of the big bands of the day and you'll see Paul Smith suits straight from the haberdashery.
