OK serious question now.

You know all that money that the banks were fined today, who gets it?

I asked the same question to Joo earlier. Don't know why I asked Joo to be honest. Unless it involves cooking or football she knows Jack. Grin

So let me get this straight.

The banks were fined for lining their pockets with Joe Public's money, but the treasury have made it right by taking the money from the banks and keeping it for themselves?

I would draw the line at cooking if I were you Kev, or before you know it she will be wanting to hold the remote control when you're watching telly together.

Not really.

HM Treasury IS our money, it is the keeper of the purse for public spending.

Also I'm not sure how much was about Joe Publics money. The manipulation affected things like credit ratings, so wouldn't directly affect the general public (?)

I wonder if they will spend it on 100 yd car journeys and duck house moats, or if they will just waste it on the health service...

I assumed it would, but I don't really understand it.

Banks were issued with billions in fines and vigorous rebukes on Wednesday for failing to stop traders repeatedly rigging the currency markets for half a decade at the expense of customers and the wider financial system.

There are far worse things to worry about Tom. Those scoundrels at 'Stars have put their prices up. It's an outrage.
