I've just got my annual electricity summary so I can see at a glance if I could be better off with a different tariff.
Simple my arse! it's the most confusing thing I've ever seen.
If they want to make it simple, why don't they just put me on the cheapest tariff automatically?

No birds. No bees.
No leaves on the trees.
No wonder, November.

I was in Lidl the other day and I was eves-dropping on a bloke and his Mrs.
I'll get some of that granary bread shall I?
Don't like brown bread. Never have, never will.
Ooh!.. Shall we get a lasagne for tea?
Don't like lasagne (he pronounced it Le-sanja) Never have, never will.
He reminded someone, but I can't think who.

I wonder why Italy is 20 places above us in the life expectancy stakes?

I think how they care for their poor & their pensioners could figure in as well.

I wonder what their health service, (especially cancer detection rates) are like?
I couldn't believe we were 27th in that table.

I'm a happy bunny now.
I had a thing to write that I've been putting off for several days, but I've done it now and I've pressed 'Send'.

Average life expectancy isn't just about people living for longer - it's also about people not dying as young (when we're talking about average life expectancy at birth - which is normally the case).
Had a quick look and Italy's infant mortality is lower than the UK's (for example).
I haven't got the numbers to see how much of an effect that has, but any quantity of zero (or close to zero) figures can have quite a big effect when working out averages.
