TIA.

They are ok, however I used to wear mine under a pair of lightweight combat trousers to reduce noise, especially on night patrols. Best go for a size above your trousers.

Best thing is they are goretex so windproof which is just as important as reduces windchill.

Sure I've still got a pair that will fit you, I'll have a look

I want to use them for motorcycling so noise won't be an issue. My regular PVC waterproofs have never let me down before, but I'm usually standing when I wear them, not heading into the storm at 40 MPH, sitting down with my legs open. (They leaked at the crotch).

I'm going here tomorrow so should be able to pick some up at a reasonable price thank you very much Geo.

Hoping to buy some boots while I'm there, any advice appreciated.

So useful to have have a military guru on hand.

Magnum or Danner where the boot of choice with our guys. They seem to do a decent offer on a set of lightweight magnums

Meh!

The trip to Anchor Supplies was a bust. No Gortex trousers, and just some odd sized boots.

All the worthwhile stuff has been picked over.   Cry

This is my experience with Anchor Supplies. As a place to go as something to see, it's great. But there never seems to be anything worth buying.

Yes. Unbelievably, 99.9%.

Can't recall where I read that, but it was probably in Bryson's ASHONE.

The guy that owns Anchor Supplies in Nottingham is a bloke called Eric Henderson, he and his brother used to enhance the rebuy tournies and cash-games at the old Gala Casino around 20 years ago.

Eric went to Australia as one of those "ten pound poms" in the 1950's and  eventually went prospecting and struck it rich in opals I believe. He certainly returned to England as a very wealthy man and was driving a nice Rolls-Royce the last time i saw him in the Cattle Market.

Are there any interesting people that you don't know?
