I'd love to know why they can't trace the owner. Everything you do these days leaves a trail.

After hearing about the death of Jimmy Ruffin yesterday, I went surfing and stumbled across this. I watched both parts. It took ages because I kept pausing to to google individuals.

It's like watching my era slip quietly into the past.

Do you think forums are the modern equivalent of going down the pub?

It's difficult for me to judge because I never went down the pub, but I'd imagine it's pretty similar, especially if you usually come on here after work and have a glass of wine or a tinny in your hand.

People chat about common interests or what ever is in the news, take the piss, have a bit of banter, fall out now and then etc. Some even pull birds...

The biggest surprise to me was Slim Whitman. He was my Nan's favourite and I thought he had already gone. The saddest thing on that clip is the amount of young suicides.

Lou Reed died on my birthday last year. This year my friend of over 30 years died on my birthday too. I think more about the time we have left as I have gotten older for obvious reasons. Got to enjoy your time here that's for sure. Do what makes you happy and do it lots.

Saw Slim Whitman at Kendal Leisure Centre mid-eighties.  My Mum used to drag me to allsorts when I was around eight years old: Boxcar Willie & Showaddywaddy two notables.  "Some girls will - wah-wah-wah-wah, some girls won't, some girls need a lot loving, and some girls..." <now now stop that>

Perhaps it's like a pub in Coventry....

I hate Velcro.

Mr Velcro got the idea for it when he noticed how burrs stick to everything, even if we don't want them to. A bit of farting about in the lab and and ta daa.... Velcro!

It sticks to everything, even if we don't want it to.

British Heart Foundation will have to buck their ideas up and get some zips and poppers if they want to sell me a jacket.

I'm in a fancy London hotel.

No. Belay that. I'm in a crappy London hotel with fancy prices. £95 for a single room for one night.

I went downstairs to the gray, empty room that they use as a restaurant. It was called The Roast Room. It should have been called The Hiest Room because they definitely robbed me.

I had the salmon fillet teriyaki because it was one of the cheapest things I could find. (the salad was twelve quid)

When it came it was a small piece of salmon with two little taters and two brussle sprouts.

I ate the first brussle sprout without incident, but the second one was so hard that when I tried to stab it with my fork, it bounced off my plate and on to the floor. On its way it rolled along my thigh, leaving a greasy stain on my Jekylls.

Guess how many pairs of trousers I have with me?

It's strange how your mind works when you're alone at night in a hotel room.

I've just realised that instead of singing 'puttin on the Ritz' you can sing 'gettin on me tits' and the song still makes perfect sense.
