For me, flocking/herding can mean standing still in a bunch, where as murmurating/swarming implies movement.

Also- Sheep flock.

My golfing pal Jeff usually enjoys a good old sotto-voce chunter on the rare occasions that he hits a poor shot and I refer to that as a murmuration.

This has revved me up quite a bit today.

Warboys to be released, parole board 'confident he wont re offend.

So what if he doesn't re offend. What about punishment for the offences he has committed already.

Jesus just 10 years. Let's hope some of the others who came forward after have a case to answer too. Although I suspect that it would have transpired by now.

Here's what he was convicted for-Worboys was convicted in 2009 of 19 charges of drugging and sexually assaulting 12 passengers and one charge of rape. The average sentence for rape in 2009 was 8 years (https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201011/cmhansrd/cm101108/text/101108w0003.htm#10110832001246)plus added time for the other offences I would suggest, that with time off for good behaviour, that he's in the band to qualify for release.
Obvs, I don't think he should be released as a man who's suspected of carrying out that many attacks will always be a danger to women IMO and he's going to need heavy supervision to prevent him from reoffending

Yep, a good article.

I have trouble with this paragraph though.

One presumes that there will have been highly persuasive evidence and strong recommendations by Worboys’ offender managers to convince the usually risk-averse Parole Board to direct his release.

Why do we have to presume?

Why can't we be privy to the facts just like we were to the details of his trial and conviction?

Surely that would be part of justice being seen to be done.

I reckon he's been gelded - nothing else makes any sense.

I've got it taped ready to watch, Tom.

Sensitive topic for me, as a stammerer in my early years.

You learn a lot about humility when, as a 7 or 8 year old, sat in a classroom, you have to put your hand up & ask permission to go to the toilet, & the words won't come out. ,

P-p-p-please m-Mi-Miss....

Sing it Anthony, Sing it.

"I want to have a wee, I want to have a wee".....

These days, of course, the Teacher would be sacked but times were different then.

On balance, it probably did me more good than harm. Never a terrible thing to get rid of ego & stuff.

Only just seen this post, but I watched the programme last week and thought it was fantastic.  Hugely emotional viewing.

Had to laugh at the bloke from Barnsley's choice of new image though.  Not exactly subtle.

Do you know much about rabbit behaviour? I imagine you do. If not, never mind.

My brother and his wife got two rabbits when they were new-born and they have lived in their garden ever since. I don't know what breed they are, but they grew pretty big; bigger than a cat anyway. He connected a few hutches together, one of them 'upstairs', with a run under a tree to a front hutch, with tarpaulins over both sections. He would fill in the hole from time to time, as he thought they liked digging it out again. He kept the hutches locked when he wasn't there - when he opened the door, they would come out, hop around a little and then just sit back-to-back nibbling grass.

A couple of months ago, one of them died. Since then, the other one doesn't come out. It still eats and seems healthy. My brother thinks it is because sitting back-to-back meant they could watch out for cats, etc. Or do they get lonely? They don't really want to get another rabbit in case this one dies too and they are stuck with a new young one for years to come. On the other hand, this one could be around for a few more years (currently aged nine).

I'm not really sure what the question is, other than whether you have any thoughts. I imagine you know a bit about rabbits. I guess there aren't many options here.

Sorry Mr Trav, my rabbit expertise only extends to catching and eating them.

I do have some advice however. When in doubt, turn to mumsnet.
