Not sure why but Oliver Hardy sprang to mind

I swear this is true.

Just before I opened this post I said to Mrs Red, "I'll have to do something with my hair, I look like Oliver Hardy."

She said, "Don't talk stupid".

At the moment everyone in Skegness seems to be our age or older. It's all good morning, please, thank you, excuse me etc, and people are smiling at each other.

They all seems to have realised that it's nice to be alive and that the world is interesting and beautiful.

Just my phone - don't even know where my camera is anymore, if I needed better than the phone I'd get the drone out.

What phone is it? (Don't say iPhone)

Blackview IP-68 - took a gamble with an obscure import & quite happy with it. Wouldn't have an i-phone. I have an i-pad because it works best with some drone software I was using but am not an apple fan.

I've been looking into Blackview Rod. Do you know which model yours is? (IP-68 is the water resistance)

Also, who did you import from (If you can remember) and was there any import duty to pay?

BV8000 version, bought off Amazon (their buyer protection is useful when ordering something like a mobile - previously had a ripped and sellotaped empty box arrive through an Amazon seller, Amazon refunded without a quibble).

THe dual SIM is useful, helping me screen calls & identifying business calls before i answer.

Great. Thanks Rod.

One negative I forgot to say, because it's armoured standard USB C cables don't fit - so you need to but special Blackview ones - which are about £10 a time...

Yes I read that in a review Rod, it's no biggie. I think I'll go for the bv9600, which has an earphone jack.

Just looking at that photo reminded me of those "elephant ears" indicators.

They were just before modern day indicators mounted at the front & rear, & just after these amazing things;

I can't work out what's going on with this car. Has someone welded galvanised sheets to the sides?

Scratch that. You can't weld galvanise.

They were called 'semaphore arms'.

I think my dad called them "trafficators".

We're both right Ralph. In fact, you might be slightly righter than me.

Trafficators are semaphore signals which, when operated, protrude from the bodywork of a motor vehicle to indicate its intention to turn in the direction indicated by the pointing signal.

My recollection is that "trafficators" was the term regular people used, "semaphore arms" was just used by petrol heads.

Which group calls them 'Elephant ears?'

Experiments in growing old disgracefully - I'm getting too old for a moshpit. Sore this morning after taking 2 (accidental) headbutts & jumping about like I was nearly 25 instead of nearly 50... Co-codamol was the only thing getting me to sleep last night when I got back from Glasgow.
