Usually the circumstances are comical, these will be RIDICULOUS. i.e value betting the board, floating with unders and getting there, Calling off AIPF with rags.....oh hold on, no, yeah, same as usual then.

Unable to fulfil my mission. Tom spent the majority of the night eating chips and/or ice cream and avoided most pots other than when he was checking the nuts to me on the river. Obviously im not falling for that one! Will have to postpone such a stacking until next time!

I popped into work today and scanned this picture. We are creating a small gallery in the Uni about Gypsy memorable sometime in June/July. We have literally boxes of stuff no one has looked through, tarot cards, diaries, photo's etc.. Sadly I wont be able to look through it much as off home and resting leg for foreseeable future.

Did you drink proper tea Red?

If so do you still?

I will post as much as I can later this week just hurt my knee so only came into work to collect a few things.

The items we have were donated to special collections (Leeds University) so even if no one ever looks at them they stay in vaults upstairs. I can try find out who/what/when donated them, just need to ask the right people.

I spend most my lunches looking through various items we hold in special collections, war medals, diaries (last week I read one of the only first hand accounts of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_truce ), rare books, it really is a shame alot of the interesting stuff is often rarely seen. Unless someone suggests making a exhibition out of a certain collection or topic it might only get viewed once a year by a PG student doing some obscure research.

The BBC are always wanting stuff of us, they are (so I am told) bloody slow to pay royalties on pictures they use though.

Just one obscure question from me:

Did you drink proper tea Red?

If so do you still?

I'm not sure what "Proper tea" is, but when I was a boy, there would be a big (At least a gallon) teapot, simmering on the fire or the stove.

It was always on, day and night. Every now and then, someone would add a couple of pints of boiling water, or a scoop of tea, (No tea bags, we used loose leaves in those days)

It was so strong, you could stand your spoon up in it. One mug of that with four sugars and a dollop of condensed milk would cure what ailed you.

I should have known. When we eventually changeed to bags my gran used to say, "Make me some proper tea, not that maisy-water in those bags"
