It's a wonderfully cold winter morning here at chez Red. There is the slightest suspicion of a frost on the ground and the air is uncannily still.
The sky, lit by an unseen sun changes slowly from ash grey to the palest of blues. Then, for some reason, it goes back to the grey, and then back to the blue again. It does this twice in the space of a few minutes.
I move closer to the window and rub my eyes, even the birds, who are busy tugging early worms from the crispy lawn seem to pause and look around.
It's a strange sensation, watching as the mood lighting of the morning is adjusted. It's as though God is playing with his dimmer switch.
He finally decided on the setting marked 'Beautiful'.
Lovely piece of lyrical waxing, I've missed your little gems.

Another amazing discovery.
If a statue of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle.
If the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle.
If the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
Not true, a myth I believe.
I know that if all four of the horse's legs are off the ground, it means someone is pinching the statue.

Great find Jon.
Eventually, the only amazing fact left will be the fact that we have disproved all the other amazing facts.

Babies are born without knee caps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2 years of age.
(No babies were hurt during the production of this amazing fact)

Made a shock discovery today.
A slice of smoked ham has 25% more calories than a slice of unsmoked ham.
Why is that?
Must be 'cause it's drier, shirley? Less water for a certain weight = more calories per weight.
Proberly.

Actually, that's quite a good theory.

sorry, just trying to help but the vinny thing was a bit of a low blow, you've got a long way to go until you get to that level (he doesn't read this thread does he?)
think what you're thinking of with regard to kneecaps is that they're not made of bone at birth, they change later on
and the horsey fact is just complete bs
reckon rex is onto a good thing with the ham thing. you may find that the cheaper the ham the less calories it has as they pump it with water

Not too sure on this one...
I went to the ASDA website which didn't have a product called unsmoked ham, but it had what they called "oven-baked" ham. They also had what appeared to be a product from the same range called smoked ham. The only difference in the description was as follows:
"No artificial colours or flavours Cured and cooked pork leg."
"No artificial colours or flavours Cured pork leg, cooked and smoked" - from the smoked ham, obv
The ingredients for both meats were exactly the same.
The calories were pretty much exactly the same also - 116 calories per 100g of ham for the "oven-baked" and 113 calories per 100g of ham for the "smoked".
And for gatso, each package of ham was the same price - £4.50 for 425g.

I'm just thinking out loud, but could I use "Gatso is always right about everything" as an amazing fact?
Also, if this is gone in the morning, we'll know that Vinny has been here.
EDIT: Pic of Doner-kebab was here...
