So last year, much against my better judgement and instinct for self-preservation, I allowed Mrs Red to talk me into trying couscous.
Tonight it was humous. It's a slippery slope. I've only my self to blame.

Disgraceful, abandoning your roots.
What's wrong with a home made steak & kidney pudding, steamed for 4 hours, mashed potato, & lashings of think gravy?

I think I need to apply the rule of thumb.

The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from and old English law which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.

Yes - I discovered pizza whilst in Norway, about 7 years ago, & then again, in the Pizza Hut opposite Naps in Sheffield, when we all used to play up there once a week.
I can't bring to mind anything else, to be honest. Oh, & spaghetti bolognese.
I have absolutely no desire to leave my food comfort zone. Potatoes, eggs, bread, are the foundations of it, as long as thry are not messed about with, by the ridiculous addition of onions, spices, or other new-fangled rubbish.
If pressed to nominate one meal I had to eat every day until I die, I'd settle for a Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney pie, tinned potatoes (John West preferably), tin of marrowfat peas, & Bisto Gravy, with added mint-sauce.
I have an Invite to dine at the Bellagio tonight, from a good pal, who I do not wish to disappoint, but I'm half scared really, as I believe the food in Bellagio is posh, & I can't handle that sort of thing very well. I'm also not so good at "social dining", in truth, & I avoid it whenever possible.
I'm actually slightly jealous of Dubai in that respect, he really loves fine dining - a sign of breeding, I assume - & I much enjoy his Posts about food, but me, nah, it's just not my thing.

Ooh! One meal for the rest of my life eh? I think mine would be a nice stew, made with shin beef and nice fluffy dumplings, served with thickly buttered crusty bread.
Then again, I'm very partial to sausage egg and chips....

He said that the stained glass in some 600 year old Cathedral was thicker at the bottom than the top, because, over the centuries, gravity caused the glass to move downwards. I think we can allow Gatters to call BS on that one, but who knows?
ooh, this one's easy
olde style glass manufacture wasn't as good as nowadays, you'd have thicker bits and thinner bits so obv you put the thicker bit at the bottom when you're fitting it. common sense really
got stuff to do now. can people hold off posting nonsense while I'm away?
Wooooah - That fits, for me, I'll buy that.
Whooooa hold on there old timer - don't forget that wonderful peice that Red posted a few years ago about the glass experiment. It shows glass moving over hundreds of years. Can't remember what it was called but that is never a problem in this place.
Yeah, but Gatters called bs on it, so I put up the white flag. What do you think you are, a comedian or something?......
