I may not understand the answer, so bear with me, but what would be the formula for calculating what percentage of the time

would win v

1 รท 2 = 0.5 = 50%

Basically, the 85o will either hit, or it won't.  Same equation for any heads-up situation.

Some small birds, like wrens, get around the problem by sharing body heat.

I think the record for wrens roosting together is over 60.

Wrens huddled together for warmth.

Great pics there Tom esp the little Goldcrest.

The most amazing cuddlers are the male Emperor penguin who incubate and bring up the young. The females feck or after laying the egg and before the biting winter sets in.

Yes Tom just caught up with it after getting back from Vegas. Saw Tikay out there thankfully no talk of concrete. Think I upset him when he asked if the Aria was within walking distance from the Venetian or a taxi ride. Told him walking for me, taxi for him.

Back on theme, Frozen planet is amazing. I like the end bit when they show the filming of it.

I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.

D H Lawrence

That was quoted in a film a few years ago.

One pie point for anybody who can name the film.

Gatso doesn't count because he'll just google it like he always does to try to make out he knows stuff.
