I've been wondering.
Why is it that as soon as anyone posts about any form of degeneracy, we're all on it like a car bonnet?
A post that includes details of excessive Betting, boozing, brawling, bonking etc, (Especially the posters own) gets more hits than the Beatles. The worse there behaviour is, the more we like it.
Then, when we've all revelled in someone else's debauchery for as long as possible, (sometimes even egging them on if necessary), we don't rip into them for being an idiot, we start dishing out sympathy and sage advice about clean living & bankroll management.
Why do we do it? Is it a kind of wanton voyeurism, tempered by pangs of empathy or something?
Because its more interesting than trains 'n shit?

"They", not "we", please.
I agree, of course, it's a very odd thing indeed, but not everyone subscribes, far from it. But yes, the majority seem to love it.
One of life's mysteries.
Each to their own, I guess, some like degen stuff - I mean, why the fixation with Ladyboys?! - and some like trains n shit.
A hero of mine - & yours - is Sir David Attenborough, jeez, how much do we admire & respect that man? And how much degeneracy features in his life, & work? Precisely nil.
Society is changing. Decent people used to be respected, now degens are the Kings in ther world of internet Forums. I doubt it is so in the real world, though.

I find that most people that pretend not to be interested in it are secretly, and are usually interested in the gossip face to face, but present their public appearance as not so.
Its just human nature.

How can I make a post which says, ' All you lot do this, but I don't?
When I say 'We' I mean 'The majority'. (I almost said 'Wee' but that would have set Phil off again)

How do you know I have not? But doing them myself, & drooling & salivating at someone else describing doing them, is quite different.
There is nothing wrong with being degen, but I am, by habit, a doer, not a voyuer.
Gotta go, I have some degen things planned for this afternon.

LOL @ how do I know you have not, I read your golf story. I would say this is one case where it would be better to be a voyeur than a doer.

Took a walk along the coast today, down Musselburgh way. There were a gathering of "birders" or "twitchers" there, all tooled up with huge telescopes on tripods and seemed to be excited about this group sitting out in the Forth.
I was surprised that few of them actually had cameras just the scopes or high powered binos. Would've thought if I was getting excited about something I'd want to keep some sort of pictorial record.
This is as good as I could get as they were a bit out, any ideas?

This wee fella totally owned me for ages. Everytime I tried to get a decent pic he would start scratching his ear or would dive below the water. I tried to get a decent pic of him diving but with little success.
Eventually I remembered the sport continous setting:

First wee thing was too shy and wouldn't come out to play. The second was bold as brass and seemed to love a pose.

Is that shy wee thing a female robin?

I never gave that any thought at all tbh Ralph. I've never been a birdie type and thought all Robins had red breasts......doh! Always learning though.
The two of them were in the same place but that one wouldn't come near..........you could well be right.
The tufted duck and Robins were at Duddingston Loch in Holyrood Park which I visited before going to Musselburgh. The Loch is always full of swans (it is Her Majestys park after all.)

Fantastic pics Geo.
I think the little brown bird is a dunnock. (Since you didn't know what it was, it must be a dunnock hen
