Here's one for the camera buffs.
Why, as a (very) amateur photographer, am I proud of this unremarkable shot of a robin?
Good focus on the longtailed tit as well Red.
Nice focussing. Manual focus, or focus on the hedge, half-press to lock and move?
I'd like to rant about fog lights as well. At least 20% of the cars this morning had NO lights on at all. Unbelievable!
Yes. Couldn't focus on the robin through the feeders so I focused on the hedge, locked and moved. Good innit?
Indeedy. Nice bit of front bokeh.
Good focus on the long-tailed tit as well Tom.
Wow - great spot -
I never even saw it!
No wonder I am shite @ photography.
Me neither.
In fact when it was mentioned, before scrolling back to the original I thought it was a Photoshop.
I was about to add a shadow and ask who took the photo. :-)

I didn't see it either!
Mrs Red saw it straight away, but she never misses anything. (You just try sneaking a bit of crackling into your mouth while you're carving the pork).

Here's an intentional long-tail tit pic, complete with bokeh.

I was in Rye on the coast on Monday - the fog then reminded me of this film
I was expecting to come across vengeful ghost mariners at any point

I'm trying hard not to keep posting bird pics, but I really like this one.

No! Keep them coming. Love bird pics. Long tailed tits are one of my favorites. Get loads in my back garden.
The robin pic is great Tom

Tails are optional to be fair.

Hi Tom
Could you remind me of the name of that dog training book you have recommended a few times?

Here you go Byron. These books are oldies now, but still the best available in my humble opinion.
The first one is the one every dog owner should read, and covers all aspects of dog ownership from choosing and feeding to the general obedience stuff like sit, stay, down, walk to heel, retrieve etc.
The second one covers more advanced disciplines like agility, scent discrimination, guarding, tracking and man-work.
