Thanks peeps.

As you might have guessed, I'm just loving taking bird pics.

I suppose it has the same appeal as fishing. You get to watch nature for hours on end, and sometimes you manage to catch something. It's like a peculiar mixture of tranquillity and excitement.

As with fishing, there are loads of 'Ones that got away'.

This was almost a good pic, but the focus is sharp on the bird at the back rather than the one in front, and the shutter speed is too slow.

What with the great shots from Red, then this guy on another forum - I retire from wildlife photography - at least the hills don't move!!!

they where behaving a bit like Eagles while they hunted worms.

to be honest i couldnt see they where worms until i downloaded the pics at home.

they where landing some distance away from me but i think you can see the worm hanging from his talons [i had to crop that one quite a bit].

people tell me thay are scavengers, but they hunt as well as they where catching worms a good 3 hours in front of me.

Mrs Red broke down in Lincoln last night. She rang the AA, and she rang me.

Two hours later, the AA hadn't arrived, so I drove to Coalville, borrowed an A frame and a light board and set off for Lincoln.

The AA arrived at the same time I did. It was four hours after she first rang them, and this is a woman alone at night with two small children.

Heads will roll.
