Sorry to become boring and repetitive but please let me know if you hear the cuckoo.
I have seen two sand martins.

I love the continuity of the seasons though Trev. They come around too quickly lately mind.

Last night was sat in my office playing online poker, whilst listening to Amsterdam talking the planes in and watching them on
the radar.
Go to live airtrafficcontrol for top 50 towers.
Oh, and i managed to watch the United game at same time.

Was this pre MOT's Tom, or wasn't that a concern for your brother?
MOT's were compulsory back then, but nothing like as strict as they are now. Requirements were that your vehicle had lights, a horn, at least the min tire tread depth, working brakes and steering.
You could probably pass an MOT if your car had no engine at all.
Failing that, bent mechanics were thick on the ground, or you could buy black market certificates for about six or seven quid a pop.
Also I once heard you could put tax disks in brake fluid, then put them in milk all the writing goes away and you could just fill them in yourselves back in the days of hand written tax discs. Is this true or is it another lie i was told growing up.
Way back when, I used to play poker in virtually all of the spielers in the West End of London and they were full of all sorts of characters with a plethora of unusual "professions" which ranged from "mumbling" to "paper-hanging" with many others in between. The paper-hangers or "kiters" were cheque-book and card artistes and I remember hearing that they used to use brake fluid to get the original signatures off the cards. I never actually witnessed this process though your honour.

It's April. Flowers have begun to bloom, buds on trees are getting bigger and birds should be singing mad around the place.
But today the birds are quiet and instead, I'm hearing the sound of wind whipping against the windows. There's also the gentle tap, tap, tap of what I thought was rain falling. But it's not rain. It's SNOW!!! Huge white fluffy flakes of the stuff. In April.
April showers bring May flowers. Does it matter what type of showers we have? Mother Nature has some explaining to do. She's avoiding my calls at the minute, but I'll keep at it.
PS Archie isn't impressed either.

Good grief, that is wonderful!
I'm slightly coy at admitting on blonde quite how interesting I find airports & aeroplanes, you know how it is.
I now, temporarily, live quite near (7 miles) Heathrow Airport. Since moving there, I visit the Airport at least once a week, & spend a few hours gawping. I now know all the little "secret" viewpoints @ Heathrow for getting near to incoming & outgoing flights, & I can stand right under them as they make their final approach just a few hundred feet above, or stand at a spot where they begin take off, or have just taken off.
From my London abode, I can watch the comings & goings too, though from some distance.
It's as geeky as it gets, but I adore the sight & sound, & just think it's great fun. And free.
Thst website can only add to the fun, thanks.
Where do you live, & what Airports interest you, Mr Typhoon?

I live near Woodhall Spa ( Home of the english golf union )
Under the main flight path from North America into Amsterdam Frankfurt Munich etc and back again.
A cathy pacific came over yesterday from New York to Singapore which is the worlds longest non stop route 18.5 hours.
If your on the site and go to planes, it will give you a list of all airborne planes with flight numbers, click on what ever
flight you want to track and it will take you to its current position.
Las vegas control tower is a good one to eavesdrop.
Sorry if i am boring you.

Glad i took your advice and purchased a Bridge super zoom Red. Those pesky birds wont be evading me for much longer! Here is my first snap which was taken from my bedroom window of a Starling!?? it was over 100 foot away and i still had bundles of zoom left. Looking forward to seeing what else i get from popping my head out of the window.

Also was surprised to see how much colour they had on their feathers. I just assumed they were all brown.
