BTW Kev, are those olives you have in there?

Yes Tom Kalamata olives. We have two tagines, different sizes. I used the small ones today as I cooked for just me and Joo while she was at the Stoke v Wolves game. Spot the "there's something not quite right with that last sentence"

I spotted it fairly quickly, but I'll keep my council.

BTW- You and Joo are one of the best couples I know. You were made for each other and it shines out like a beacon every time I see you together.

Ty ya big soft bugger. She doesn't know she's born.   Grin

One of these days, I'm going to have a curry and night on the lash with Matt & Stu.

It'd be great, I could get squiffy in Nottingham and no one would dare pick on me.

We softies will rule the world one day.

We already do, we hide the inner toughness and life scars from the outside world. Same as poker really, let them see what you want them too.

Anyway Match of the day bekons inbetween switching channels to keep up with the Masters.

I don't follow golf particularly but I absolutely adore The Masters. One of sports greatest spectacles.

The TV coverage is just soo good. You get to see everything, and the commentary is just brilliant.

Yes it is. I know a lot of people who feel the same about the masters. Joo's Mum watches it for the flora and general spectacle of the fabulous course. I used to play golf twice a week until I found poker. I'm suprised to say I have met more people I would go for a beer with in the poker world than I ever did on the golfing world. I love both but there's only enough time for one or the other.

Incidently do you cook with a tagine Tom?

If you were to time it correctly you might even get a game of pool too.

Nope, never have, but during my fiction reading days I read a spy novel where the hero, quite a sophisticated chap, cooked a tagine meal for the love interest.

Many times since then, my in built narration has transformed stirring baked beans in my vest into a more up-market scenario.

"The warm tropical breeze tugged gently at the collar of his Sea Island cotton shirt as he lifted the ladle from the tangine and sipped the contents. Fastidiously, he added minute amounts of seasoning. A wry smile passed briefly across his scarred, but still handsome face. The meal was ready, and so was he. Both were irresistible.....

You would have to teach me how to play. I know I told you I was a whiz at it, but I was yanking your chain a little. I was strictly a snooker player and even that was 20 years ago.

Proper chuckling here. I have to admit I've cooked the odd meal for love interest purposes. Not tonight thought as by the time it was cooked, beer and a bottle of chardonnay was consumed. I asked about tagine cooking as I asumed it would be similar to cooking everything in one pot on an open fire.

Oh I've gone plenty of that, but four gallons of cabbage and taters with a pigs trotter in it doesn't quite have the same je ne sais quois.

You'd be more than welcome Tom. I think you'd enjoy one of the Thursday nights out. They're reasonably steady and never over step the mark.

Friday / Saturday might be a bit much but again you're very welcome to give it a try.

I wonder if we could get Tony to try olives with his dinner?

More chance getting him to watch the mighty boosh if you ask me.

What's the typical Thursday night modus operandi then Matt? (I seem to have come over all foreign tonight).
