Tom we have a regular visitor to our bird table, there was a pair up to last week so I assume the other is incubating the eggs. Can you spot an anomally in the pic.

Yes well spotted. It doesn't seem affected by the disability, probably because it knows no different.

Set the feeder up to be anti pigeon. Worked like a charm! The 2 pigeons and a collored dove now sulk around underneath picking up the scraps.

Frequent visitors include 2 goldfinches, a tonne of starlings and sparrows and yesterday a blue tit turned up! Didn't catch it's face though. Still terrible at getting them in flight, i either start snapping too early or far too late. Tried the sports settings which has the faster shutter speeds.

Got the wife on camera duty while i am out of the house. Will post a pic or two later tonight!

I have been filling everything up once a week, is this about right?

Great stuff Milly. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

Wait until an individual feeder is empty before you re-fill it. That way you don't keep putting fresh seed on top of old seed and end up with a moldy lump at the bottom.

Tom

My dog (12 y o bitch) seems to be much hungrier these days, and when we are out seems to have started to eat grass (longer grass around tree bases).

Do you know why she is eating grass? Is it due to something missing in her diet? Nothing wrong with her "business".  I'm sure all dogs would eat non stop given the chance, but she has always been fussier with food and used to leave some for later. Now its gone when it hits the bowl and she pesters me much earlier to be fed.

I think Im just worried cause she is a bit older. She is still generally otherwise happy and upbeat

Is she getting fat or drinking  / urinating a lot?

Have you changed her diet recently, and what do you feed her?

Def drinking more, (but she never drank much). She only goes to toilet 3x per day on each walk, can't say if I've noticed if its more but I guess drinking more would suggest so

Food wise I feed her a tin of ceaser dog food and pedigree chum mixer after our evening walk (circa 6pm). Other than that she gets a dentastick after our morning walk and maybe tiny tipbits at lunch if she is lucky.

Not really changed her diet

I wouldn't worry while she seems healthy. Just watch out for something definite.

If she starts to wee a lot or have 'accicents' I would suspect liver / kidney probs.

ok tyty

tbh if she had accidents I would be very worried. She was a rescue dog and I think was beaten badly for that. She would explode before peeing on the floor I think.

Lol Tom I would never let felt get that bad. I have a strange guttering on my place. It consists of individual concrete channel blocks. The channel is rubberised and covered over in hot butumin. The part you can see in the photo is just an outer conctered facia moulding section.

I'm sure I could handle nuclear waste, nitroglycerin, or a a phial of anthrax without the slightest problem. But gravy.....
