Why do people order a tea and a water, or a coffee and a water?

"I'll have a latte and a water please..."

I have only ever seen poker players do this btw. What the hell is it all about?

In Cyprus and other Eastern Med countries it's the norm, it's to cleans the palate. However they drink coffee without milk so fairly strong. I love the coffee there. I just order Sketo which means plain or nothing in it. Basically no sugar as milk is not usually used.

Bit of a boring video but shows how to make it.

Thanks Kev. I love learning about other peoples culture and traditions.

A friend and I once stayed with some Native Americans (Potawatomi tribe) in Muncie Indiana. They were so fascinated by our tea making ritual that when we left, I gave them my kettle.

I have loads of photographs but they need scanning in before I can post them

I have pics of the kettle.

You can't buy a proper kettle in America. Well not in 1992 you couldn't.

Couldn't buy methylated spirits either. Well you could, but we didn't know what to ask for.

I had a quick look for pics of the trip. This was the first one I found. It proves that I was already quite accomplished in the art of bushcraft.

Here I am demonstrating how to answer a call of nature when out in the backwoods.

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

And a fag on the go. Funny how most of our generation smoked and so many of us packed in. Today there are a huge number of young smokers, and more female apparently. They have more information out there about the dangers yet still continue to smoke.
